“I mistakenly attended a class which was not of my enrolled course but didn’t even realize till halfway through the class, because no one objected to my being there!”
I attended one semester at University of Mannheim in Germany as part of my student exchange program from IIM-C. It was a great experience. The mindset and approach to education is very different abroad and people do whatever excites them. They take a very practical approach to problems and study to be able to implement their education in real life. The best part about education in Germany is a no attendance policy where the students are free to join only if the subject and topic appeals to them and are not forced to attend classes. In fact, students are free to attend specific classes for a course even if they have not enrolled in the same. I mistakenly attended a class which was not of my enrolled course but didn’t even realize till halfway through the class because no one objected to my being there. All in all, it was a great experience!
