Himachal Pradesh University, commonly known as HPU is a public university located at Summer Hill, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. Founded in the year 1970, it is one of the oldest and renowned universities in Himachal Pradesh. It is a public University, therefore, is financed totally by the government of Himachal Pradesh/ Delhi.

Himachal Pradesh University isn’t a singular unit, but rather is a family of Institutes and centers, all of which come under the name tag of Himachal Pradesh University. For one to enroll in one of the Institutes under HPU, he/she has to complete the HPU examination under good terms. HPU Examination

HPU Examination is conducted by Himachal Pradesh University for seeking admission in various courses offered with the likes of B.B.A, M.B.A, B.C.A, L.L.B, M.Com, M.T.A, and etc.

Important Documents For HPU Examination

Before proceeding to apply for the HPU Examination, the students must possess the following documents required to fill application form:

1. Scanned copies the applicant’s recent photograph with the following specification: Photograph should be in formals, must be a passport size color picture, should have no shadows and red eyes, Photo format should be .jpg or .jpeg only with Maximum size 100KB, and file name should be 10 character maximum.
2. Scanned copy of the applicant’s signature with the following specifications:- Applicant should sign with black ink on a white paper and get the signature scanned, the signature must be signed only by the applicant, the Scanned signature format should be .jpg or .jpeg only, with Maximum size 100KB.
3. Scanned copy of the applicant’s Father / Mother signature.
4. 10th and 12th Mark Sheet.
5. Migration certificate as well as passing certificate of 10th and 12th class.
6. Are you a Child of H.P. Govt. Employees/Employees of Autonomous Bodies wholly or partially financed by the Govt. of HP.
7. Status of service in Govt. of H.P.
8. Aadhar Card or Pan Card

HPU Examination Application Form

Students need to follow below-mentioned steps to fill the application form, in order to apply for the courses in Himachal Pradesh University:

1. Students must first visit the official website of Himachal Pradesh University, i.e. http://www.hpuniv.ac.in/, in order to fill the application form.
2. Next click on the link appearing on the website to apply for various UG, PG, Diploma and Doctoral programs.
3. Their students need to click on the programs, they need to apply for.
4. Now, the application form appears on the screen. Candidates need to fill the information in the application form such as personal, educational, etc. and after filling the details, students receive the Unique Registration Number (URN).
5. Thereafter, the candidates have to pay the application fee and submit the form.
6. The generation of the confirmation page confirms the correctness and final submission of the application form.

HPU (ICDEOL)

After its establishment in 1970, the Himachal University in the year 1971, took a step towards the growth of knowledge and providing educational opportunities to students through the establishment of Directorate of Correspondence Courses as International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning (ICDEOL). The HPU offers various UG, PG and Diploma level programs to students through distance mode.

Some of the courses offered under ICDEOL includes:

ICDEOL Admission Application Process

Himachal Pradesh University offers various programs to students in UG, PG and Diploma level through distance mode. Students must know how to apply for getting admission to these distance courses.

Here is an admission application process which students need to follow to get admission in HPU ICDEOL:

1. In order to access all the list of programs, click on “UG/ PG/ Diploma”.
2. Click on the program name students want to go for from the list of programs.
3. Read the instructions carefully before clicking to the program, which will download in PDF format.
4. Click on the program name for which you are willing to apply.
5. After clicking the program a pop up will open terms and conditions, after which that you will be redirected to the personal information page.
6. Students now have to fill the personal information
   • Personal Information

   • Territorial Jurisdiction Certificate in case of the outside of H.P. state

   • Payment 
   • Submit application form
7. After filling the form, the system will generate a Unique Registration number along with a password that will be sent on the registered email and registered mobile number.

HPU Examination: Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

HPU B.Ed is a national level exam conducted Yearly, for students willing to enroll in B.Ed courses at HPU. The Exam is exclusively an online  Examination form is available at the official website of HPU. 

The process involved in applying for HPU B.Ed examination (online) are:-

• Registration:- The Aspirant must register him/herself for the entrance examination, by Visiting the official HPU website and filling in the registration form.
• Application Form:- The students after completing the previous step would get access to certain credentials(such as student ID), that is required to initiate the current step. The students are required to fill in their personal details in the application and are required to verify them, in order for the completion of the current method.
• Sending Documents:- After the completion of the previous process, the students are required to provide certain documents such as passport size picture, photograph, signature, etc. This enables the students to perform the last method of the entrance process.
• Payment:- After the completion of the aforementioned steps, the students are required to pay the fees for the course, which could be done either online or offline. This is a mandatory step, incompletion of which would result in failure in the admission process.
• Details Verification:- In this step, students are required to confirm the details they have provided throughout the Registration Process.
