SSP Scholarship 2020 – Benefits, Eligibility, Application Process & Renewal Process

The State Scholarship Portal or SSP Scholarshipis launched by the Government of Karnataka (GoK) through the center for e-governance. This portal is initiated to offer financial support to students belonging to SC / ST / OBC / minority communities / general (economically weaker section).

SSP portal scholarship is granted for both pre matric and post matric category through various departments. However, students pursuing graduation, post-graduation, and Ph.D. can also apply for a scholarship.

SSP Scholarship Benefits

SSP Scholarship amount is awarded to eligible students of Karnataka state. It is transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through the Direct Bank Transfer.

The scholarship covers student’s course fees and other expenditures. Benefits will depend on funds and other conditions. Every scheme will provide different benefits to shortlisted candidates.

SSP Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for SPP Scholarships the student must belong to a minority community like SC/ ST/ OBC/ EBC and more. Other eligibility criteria for the SSP post-matric  and SSP pre-matric scholarship are listed below:

Eligibility For pre-matric scholarship

  1. The student must have secured 50% and above in the previous exam (except first standard student).
  2. Family income from all sources must be within 1 lakh per annum.

Eligibility For post-matric scholarship

  1. The student must have secured 50% and above in the previous exam.
  2. Family income should not be more than 2 lakh per annum.
  3. The student must be a domicile of Karnataka.

Documents required for
SSP Scholarship

Documents required For Pre-matric scholarship

  1. Student’s SATS identification number.
  2. Aadhar number or EID of student and parents.
  3. Mobile number.
  4. Caste and parents’ income certificate.
  5. Bank account number linked with Aadhaar.
  6. NSP scholarship ID.

Documents required For post-matric scholarship

  1. Student’s SATS identification number / college registration number.
  2. Aadhar number of students and parents.
  3. Student’s mobile number.
  4. Caste and income certificate numbers starting with RD in the student’s name.
  5. Numbers of e-authenticated documents.
  6. Disability card number issued by the Government of India.

The document mentioned above should be e-attested before applying for a scholarship, which can be done from the link on the portal for a post-matric scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship E-Attestation Process

  1. Firstly visit the official website i.e., https://ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in/ 
  2. Then click on the “E-Attestation of documents for Students” button on the home page. 
  3. After that, enter Aadhaar number and Name as in Aadhaar card in the E-Attestation page. 
  4. Enter the details and Select your university, district, taluk, and college names from the dropdown. 
  5. And fill other required details correctly.

How to apply for SSP scholarship?

The eligible students need to follow the following procedure to apply for the scholarship.

Registration on the SSP scholarship portal

  1. Visit State Scholarship Portal on the given link https://ssp.karnataka.gov.in/home.aspx
  2. Now click on the “Create An Account” button on the home page.
  3. Select “Pre Matric” (For class 1st-10th students) or 
  4. “Post Matric” (For others)
  5. Enter student’s SATS number and click on Get Data. 
  6. After that, fill the other required details. Submit the Registration Form. 
  7. Confirm your email id to activate your account.

SSP Scholarship Login

  1. One account is created successfully, click on the “Student Login” link from home page. 
  2. Now enter User ID and Password and click on the Login button. 
  3. Your SSP Karnataka Scholarship Dashboard will get open. 
  4. Fill the scholarship application form as per your eligibility.

For post-matric scholarship, only SC, ST, and minority class students can apply through this portal. Students of backward classes should apply on the e-pass portal or contact the backward class welfare department.

SSP Scholarship Application Renewal

Students who want to renew their application for scholarships can follow the given below easy steps. 

  1.  Visit the official web portal https://ssp.karnataka.gov.in/
  2. Now click on the Student login link. 
  3. Enter the user id and password. 
  4. Now click on the Renewal Form link. 
  5. Fill the required details and submit it.
