National Institute of Bank Management or NIBM is an autonomous management institute recognized as a scientific and industrial research organization by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology.

The institute was set up by the Reserve Bank of India in association with the Government of India. It was established in the year 1969, and since then, it has been an apex banking institute.

The NIBM provides training to banking managers and professionals to perform effectively and efficiently in domestic and international platforms. In general, the NIBM organizes at least 150 training workshops for banking professionals, which increases their productivity by providing solutions to routine banking issues. NIBM is the only academic-cum-industrial institute in the country with Reserve Bank of India as its parent organization.

Established in 1969 by the Reserve Bank of India, the National Institute of Bank Management is responsible for acting as a “think-tank” for the country’s banking industry. Since its inception, this advanced teaching and learning institute has put an enormous amount of efforts for the betterment of the country’s banking and financial sector.

In the view, NIBM has served many native banks, including the largest State Bank of India. Not limited to national banks, NIBM has served many international banks, including HSBC and Bank of America.

NIBM Admission

National Institute of Bank Management, Pune is popularly known as NIBM is an apex autonomous management body that stretches in academic and industry consultation. Every year NIBM opens the admission for the students into its management program.

The admission process starts in March with the opening of the registration process. Applicants can register themselves on the official website of the NIBM. After completing the registration, candidates must complete their application form and submit it before submitting the final submission date.

NIBMCut-off

The National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM)does not conduct any entrance exam of its own. It grants admission to the eligible students based on their score in either one of the national-level management entrance tests, including the Combined Aptitude Test (CAT), Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), or Common Management Admission Test (CMAT).

The institute has the authority to decide the cut-off criteria, and it changes every year. Apart from the examinations as mentioned above, it is important to pass the institute’s interview.

Cut off for the program at NIBM is as follows:

The Combined Aptitude Test (CAT) is a country-level entrance examination for admission into the MBA and PGDM program of almost all India’s management institutions, including the prestigious IIMs and ISB. 

National Management of Bank Management also accepts CAT’s score to prepare its cut off list every year. The cut-off criteria are different for each section as per instituted by the Government of India. CAT cut off for admission into the PGDM Programme at NIBM is 80%.

Apart from accepting CAT and XAT score for admission, the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM)also considers the score of CMAT while preparing the final admission list. Common Management Admission Test is another national-level management test equivalent to other tests like CAT or XAT. Candidates clearing CMAT are eligible to qualify for the next round of admission in the AICTE approved management institutions. 

CMAT cut off for admission into the PGDM Programme at NIBM is 95%.

NIBM Fee

National Institute of Bank Management or NIBM relies mostly on the students’ fees for most of its daily/monthly operational activities. Although fees at the NIBM is high, the return on investment is equally effective and praiseworthy.

Fees of NIBM is furcated into academic, reading material, student welfare, etc. Security deposit and mess deposit of INR 12,000 and INR 8000 respectively are refundable.
