IBPS RBB (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks)

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Regional Rural Banks (IBPS RRB) is a very crucial exam conducted to select officers to head varied regional rural banks across India. Regional Rural Banks are government-sponsored financial institutions, designed as hybrid micro banking Indian Scheduled Commercial Banks. There are a total of 45 RRBs in India right now. The selection process has three rounds- Preliminary exam, Main exam and an interview round. The exam occurs through online mode. The officers are recruited at 2 levels:-

  • Group A Officers: Scale-I(Assistant Manager), Scale-II(Manager), Scale-III(senior manager)
  • Group B Office Assistants: Multipurpose Office Assistants

IBPS has declared over 8400 vacancies for IBPS RRB 2020. Out of these, 3688 vacancies for office assistant and 3382 vacancies for officer scale-I to be occupied based on candidate’s performance in the online test.IBPS also announces vacancies for Law officer, I.T Officer, Marketing Officer, Chartered Accountant, and Agriculture officer. Those aspirants who are applying for the post of Office Assistant do not have to undergo the interview round, It is valid only for the posts of Officers Scale – I, II & III.

 The preliminary exam is an 80 marks paper which has to be completed in a time interval of 45 minutes. Logical reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude are tested in the preliminary exam.

The main exam is 200 marks paper which needs to be completed in a time interval of 120 minutes.

Logical reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, financial knowledge, Hindi/English knowledge, general awareness, and computer knowledge is covered in the Main exam. The interview round is conducted by Nodal Regional Rural Banks in association with National Bank For Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) and IBPS.

  • In hand stipend of IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I varies from ₹45000 to ₹50000. For office assistant, the stipend is ₹15000 to ₹20000.
  • The salary depends on the location of the bank.
  • To apply for the IBPS RRB exam one should be a national of India, Bhutan, or Nepal.
  • Individuals between the ages group of 18-40 are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university as a prerequisite to apply for the exam and for certain levels, the appropriate experience as specified by the IBPS.

IBPS RRB 2020

Aspiring candidates can register themselves online for IBPS RRB 2020 from 18th June 2020 to 4th July 2020. The application form has to be submitted on the official website, www.ibps.in.

Only candidates who meet the cut-off for the preliminary exam will be eligible to give the main exam. Selection will be done on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the main exam. The official date to conduct the Preliminary exam has been announced and it will be held on August 1, 2, 8, 9, and 16, 2020 for Officer Scale 1 and Office Assistants. Single Exam for Officer Scale 2 and 3 and Main exam for Officer Scale 1 will be conducted on September 13, 2020, while the Main exam for Office Assistant will take place on September 19, 2020.

  • 4th July 2020 is the last date to apply online and pay the registration fee.
  • The registration fee is Rs.100 for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM category candidates.
  • The registration fee is Rs.600 for General/OBC/EWS category candidates.
  • The interview round will be conducted in November 2020.
  • The final list of selected candidates is expected to release in January 2021.

IBPS RRB Admit Card

Separate admit cards are issued for the various rounds (Preliminary, Mains, and interview) in which the exam is conducted. The link to download the admit card is made available on the official IBPS website(www.ibps.in) once the registration period is complete. It can be downloaded online until the day of the exam. Only those candidates who qualify the preliminary exam will be able to download the admit card for the Main exam.

IBPS RRB Online Application 2020

Aspirants can fill online application for IBPS RRB online on www.ibps.in from 18th June 2020 to 4th July 2020. Steps to fill the application form include registration, uploading of proper documents, details filling, and fee payment. Only candidates meeting the eligibility criteria should apply. IBPS can cancel the application of any candidate if found ineligible. Aspirants can apply for all the posts if they are eligible for the same. The application form must be filled separately for each of these posts.   3. Select the Scanned photograph
  4. Tap on upload photo
  5. Once the picture is uploaded, you will be redirected to the application form wherein you will have to enter personal details like Name, Past work experiences, qualifications, etc. Make sure all details entered are correct since there is no facility for correcting the form later.
  6. Tap on the “I agree” checkbox in the declaration to guarantee that the information filled is correct.
  7. Pay the application fee by choosing either credit card/debit card/mobile wallets or internet banking.
  8. Print e-receipt generated after successful payment
  9. Print multiple copies of the final online application form and keep it safe for future use.

IBPS RRB Result

As the selection process has 3 rounds, the result for each round is declared separately. Only those candidates who qualify the preliminary exam will be eligible to appear for the main exam. The Result for the preliminary exam will be declared in September- October 2020. The result for the main exam will be declared in October 2020 while the final list of selected candidates is expected to be declared in January 2021.

IBPS RRB Clerk

IBPS RRB office assistants/Multipurpose Office Assistants/Clerks are considered to be lower-level management in the hierarchy of management systems of RRB’s. The clerks handle withdrawals, receipts, and emails. They also ensure timely delivery of checkbooks. They are usually trained for 6 months to 12 months.

The office assistant’s major task include-

  1. Handling withdrawal and deposit cash, accepting the receipt of cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, and pay orders.

IBPS RRB Exam Date

IBPS RRB Declaration

IBPS RRB declaration is a written statement mentioning that the information that you have provided is true and is signed and stays as evidence. The declaration has to be written in plain white sheet paper (A4), in your own handwriting using a black pen. Scan the page/ or click an image of the declaration of your phone and upload it. Ensure that the image size doesn’t exceed 50 Kb. The Declaration Letter has to be in the English language only. The application in any other language will be considered as invalid.

The salary depends on the location of the RRB and varies according to the scale of the officers. In hand the average salary of IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I varies from 45000 to 50000. IBPS RRB Age Limit

All candidates for the IBPS RRB office assistant vacancies should fall under the age group of 18-28 years as on 1 August 2020. There is a relaxation of five years given to (SC/ST) candidates.

IBPS RRB Selection Process

The selection process has three rounds- Preliminary exam, Main exam and an interview round.

For an Office Assistant, only a Preliminary exam and Main exam will take place, whereas all three rounds will be conducted for Officer Scale I.

For Officer Scale II and Officer Scale III both IBPS RRB Single Online Test and IBPS RRB, Personal Interview 2020 take place. Candidates who qualify the IBPS RRB Preliminary exam in accordance with the cutoff list released by IBPS will be eligible to appear in the main exam. Candidates will be provided with allotment on the post of their choice only after they triumphantly qualify in all the stages with extraordinary merit.

Also, provisional allotment will depend on the number of vacancies and merit-cum preference basis. If two or more candidates score the same marks, allotment will be done on the basis of the Date of birth of candidate(s).
