On 10 February 1921, in the background of the non-Cooperation movement for independence, Babu Shiv Prasad Gupta and Bhagwan Das founded a university in Varanasi. The University became originally known as Kashi Vidyapith in 1995 as the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP). Mahatma Gandhi inaugurated it.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is based in Varanasi or Benaras, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a public University. Established as Kashi Vidyapith in 1921 and subsequently renamed, it is ruled by the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature. There are more than 400 affiliated colleges in the city in six districts.

This has hundreds of thousands of students from both rural and urban areas at one of Uttar Pradesh’s biggest state universities. It offers a variety of courses in the fields of arts, sciences, business, law, computing, and management. The university has 400+ affiliated colleges.

MGKVP Time Table

The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi is going to conduct the annual examination of undergraduate courses. MGKVP Admit Card

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith’s MGKVP Admit Card 2020 will be issued in May 2020. Applicants can download their admit card at mgkvp.ac.in or via the online MGKVP 2020 entry test. Candidates will log in to access their membership card by entering their identification and birth date. It is written only in electronic format, no printed copy is mailed to the candidates. On the day of the test, the candidate must execute the print from the MGKVP Admit Card.

How to Download MGKVP 2020 Admit Card?

  • The next item is the registration number and date of birth of the candidate.
  •  The applicants would then access their admit card after uploading the information.

MGKVP Exam Date

The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi, will be examining all the under-graduate and post-graduate students annually. The review shall be conducted on time for all applicants who belong to this university. The Time Table of the MGKVP was updated on 14 February 2020 on UG 1st, 2nd and 3rd years. Thus, the BA, B.Sc, B.Sc (Ag), B.Com, BFA, B.Mus and other courses can now be accessed by both normal and private students of MGKVP.

The exams are usually conducted in the month of March/April. The time table can be downloaded through this link. The examinations of the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith started on the 20th Feb till April 2020. Now, All examinations to be held between 18-03-2020 to 02-04-2020 has canceled to prevent the transmission of Novel Coronavirus (Covid 19) as directed by the government.  These examinations will take place once everything gets in place and life gets back to normal. 

MGKVP Admission

The online registration portal for the enrollment of MGKVP 2020 was opened on 16 March at the official website mgkvp.ac.in by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith. By April 15, applicants will complete the MGKVP application form 2020. The candidates will complete and apply for admissions to MGKVP 2020 from 16 to 30 April with late payment of INR 200, and from 1 to 11 May with a late fee of INR 500. Beginning the third week of May online, the aspirants will be able to access their MGKVP 2020 admission card. From 24th to 30th May, the conduction system must carry out an offline MGKVP examination.

In June 2020, the main body will be releasing the results from MGKVP, and will then start electronic consultation for MGKVP from the first week of July 2020. In the MGKVP 2020 advice process, applicants must file their papers for review online and pay the academic fee after a seat has been assigned.

The University publishes the list of tentatively approved applicants for the second week of July 2020 after the effective MGKVP 2020 review process. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University (MGKVP) has invited online applications for admission to the various Under Graduate/ Post Graduate/ Professional/Diploma/M.Phil programs for the academic year 2020-21.

The registration fee for undergraduate courses BFA, B.Mus., B.PEd, B.Sc.(Ag), BA LLM (Except 5 Years) for the general candidates is INR 650 and doe SC/ST candidates, the fees is INR 550. Further for under-graduate courses BFA, B.Mus., B.PEd, B.Sc.(Ag), BA LLM (within 5 Years), the fees for general category candidate is INR 850 and for SC/ST, it is INR 750.

The application for post-graduation courses Except for MFA, M.Mus., M.PEd Courses, the application fees is INR 850 for general category and for SC/st, it is INR 750 and with these courses the application fee for general candidates id INR 1050 and for SC/ST, INR 950 is the application fee.

MGKVP Enterance Result

Once the MGKVP entrance test takes place, the administration takes about 2 months to give out the results. Between 24 to 30 May, an offline MGKVP test will be conducted by the concerned body. The central body will report the results from the MGKVP in June 2020.

MGKVP Migration

The candidate can apply for the migration certificate if he/she wishes to migrate to another place.

Steps to apply for migration certificate are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of MGKVP ie, mgkvp.ac.in, or you can also apply at certificate.mgkvp.online.
  • Click on apply for migration/provision.
  • Fill in the details and upload the required documents.
  • Submit the migration fee i.e., INR 100 through Challan or the online payment method.
  • If the payment is made through bank Challan, then migration certificated is generated with five working days; for online mode, it takes three working days.

MGKVP Center List 2020

Students who have applied for the Undergraduate or postgraduate examination in the MGKVP can download the center list from https://www.mgkvp.ac.in/EXAMINATIONS. In the center list, the name of the college is given against the college name. You can check the center code on your admit card, and then you can tally it from the list. This will help the students to know their respective centers.

MGKVP Scholarship

The examination department organizes the Central Exams in the month of March-April. The results of the MGKVP Annual Exam are not yet out. Since the Kashi Vidyapith declaration of results, the vast number of candidates apply for these exams annually. Applied for the revision or supplemental process for aspirants who fail such exams. The MGKVP progress reports can now be updated online by the department.

Applications are available on the University’s official website for downloading and submission. Along with the application, the entrance test syllabus, timetable, answer key, and other relevant details can be verified. There are no eligibility criteria to get admitted into the University. MGKVP University has an extremely rich heritage of its alumni history. Late Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri, former Indian Prime Minister, is an ex-student of this esteemed college. Shri. Chandra Sekar Azad, who was a revolutionary freedom fighter, is a pass out of this University. Many famous personalities who are now capable of politicians and governors hail from MGKVP.

  • Naheed Abidi – Sanskrit scholar and writer who was honored with the fourth civilian award Padma Shri.

MGKVP displays all important announcements, information, and notices on the University’s online portal. Facilities on campus

Central library

The key highlight of the campus is the Central Library that is hosted within. It is called Dr. Bhagwandas Central Library, named after the acclaimed philosopher and the first Vice-Chancellor of the University. The library comprises of more than two lakh volumes of books in diverse disciplines such as humanities, social sciences, and science. 

Accommodation & Food

There are five blocks of hostels to accommodate students for different categories of candidates like girls, boys, research students, etc. Three to four wardens guard each hostel. Mess facilities are available within the hostel separately, and food is taken care of.

Auditorium

The University actively and regularly conducts many seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. To accomplish and host the events, spacious halls are available.
