Located in the city of Quebec in Canada, Laval University is an open university that was established in the year 1852. It is a public research university, that formally operates in the French language only. The university, established under the Royal Charter of England was founded by the First Bishop of France; Francois De Montmorency Laval.

Ever since, it became the oldest higher education university in Canada, as well as the first university in North America region to offer complete education only in the French language.
