The University of Rostock, Germany, with a motto of “Traditio en Innovatio” was established in 1419.

It is on record the oldest University in the Baltic Sea region. It has a legacy of 600 years of imparting knowledge and giving a solid foundation for the future that makes it one of the best-ranked universities in the world. 

The University of Rostock started education and research even 73 years before Columbus discovered America. Changes have been part and parcel of the University, and it has always stayed up to date with the curriculum.

The technical faculty was founded in 1951, and it was the first instance for any classical university to have established a technical faculty. A new campus solely dedicated to natural sciences was set up in Suedstadt, and it constituted the unprecedented strength and novelty of the University.

The University of Rostock currently has 14,000+ students and 3,000+ staff members and offers engrossing panorama in almost all scientific fields. 

The University of Rostock has officially recognized education degrees and offer courses and programs assisted by Pre-bachelor’s degrees and Undergraduate degree. The postgraduation section supports masters and doctoral degrees.

  • The library also consists of the university archive and the art treasure collection.

Student Services of Rostock

  • The Student Services of Rostock accommodates newly enrolled international students planning to get educated at the University of Rostock as well as the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. 
  • International students, who are new to Germany, are considered for a Starter Package service.
