University of Leeds Admission Requirements for Indian Students 

For most undergraduate degree programmes, the minimum requirement is passing in a combination of five subjects in IGCSE and GCE A Level examinations or any other equivalent examination.

English Proficiency Requirements for International Students 

Students whose first language is not English are required to provide proof and meet the qualifications for English language in order to be eligible for enrollment to the University of Leeds. Before submitting the application, students must check the minimum requirements based on the course they are planning to select. Students can give various English language proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or CPE/CAE in order to give proof of language proficiency. Students need to score a minimum of 6 in IELTS, 87 in TOEFL, 60 in PTE or 169 in CAE to enrol for an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Leeds and a minimum of 6.5 in IELTS, 92 in TOEFL, 64 in PTE or 176 in CPE to enrol for a postgraduate degree programme.

University Of Leeds Campus

The University has over 1230 acres of land in all with the main campus area occupying around 98 acres. The main campus comprises a mixture of art deco, Gothic revival, brutality and post-modern building structures, which makes it a unique and diverse University campus in terms of architecture and building style. The main campus is within a walking distance from popular neighborhoods like Woodhouse, Hyde Park and Headingley and also from the city centre.

The Parkinson Building 

The Atkinson Building is an art deco building that is also grade II listed. It was named after the renowned benefactor of the university, the late Frank Parkinson. The building was officially opened on 9th November, 1951. The campanile stands at a height of 57 meters which is also the highest point of the Parkinson Building. The Parkinson Building is the 17th tallest Building in the city. 

Maurice Keyworth Building

The University of Leeds Business School is situated in the 19th century Maurice Keyworth Buildings which earlier belonged to Leeds Grammar School located on the west side of the campus of University of Leeds. The university later constructed modern buildings in the business school area popularly known as the innovation hub. 

The Great Hall

The Great Hall building is a prominent building on campus alongside Parkinson and several other brutalist buildings that are grade II listed. The Beech Grove Hall Estate site was demolished in the year 1884 and this is where the Great Hall and the Baines Memorial Wing were built. Alfred Waterhouse R.A, a renowned Victorian architect designed these buildings using red pressed bricks and Bolton Wood stone using Gothic collegiate style. It cost approximately 22000 pounds to build this building. The Great Hall is currently used for examinations, graduation ceremonies and meetings.  

The University has undertaken expansion since the year 2008 and has spent over 300 million pounds on several new educational and research facilities as well as residential and leisure facilities. 

University of Leeds Accommodation

The University gives guaranteed accommodation to undergraduate students in their first year and also to postgraduate students if they submit their application before the deadline. There are four main residence halls for students which are:

Entry Requirements for MBA

A student who wishes to enrol for the full-time MBA programme is required to provide proof of at least three years of work experience. This must include appropriate experience in management and also some career progression. 

Academic Qualifications for MBA. 

Students need a good Bachelor’s degree or a professional qualification that is acceptable by the university. If the qualification of the student is below 2:1(honors) or overseas equivalent or if the student doesn’t have a professional qualification, then his/her applicability will not be considered. The student applying for MBA might have to give the GMAT examination and score a minimum of 600 on the exam. Under such circumstances, the student might also have to present a five year work experience which should again comprise management roles and a good progression in career.
