Students from outside the EU/EEA must obtain a student visa or a residency permit. Non-EU/EEA citizens who plan to remain and study in Sweden for less than 90 days are eligible for a student visa. The residency permit is for non-EU/EEA citizens who will be studying in Sweden for more than 90 days. The visa might take up to 90 days to process, and students must also pay a visa cost of SEK 1,500.

  • Students must have an enrolment letter from a Swedish university that confirms the course duration and that the first installment of fees has been paid in full.
  • The student should be aware that this must involve a study session equal to at least 30 credits.
  • Bachelors/ Class X/ XII The year of course completion is visible on the mark-sheet and certificate.
  • Financial capacity, which means you have enough money to pay for the course you’re taking as well as support yourself while in the country. This could be in the form of a public or private scholarship, a student loan, or personal funds in the amount of SEK 8,190 per month for each year of stay in Sweden, calculated for the desired stay with a minimum of 10 months.

Study For Free in Sweden

Students who have a permanent residency in Sweden are provided with free education. Others may be required to pay tuition fees ranging from 80,000 to 140,000 SEK per yeararound 8,000 to 15,000 EUR or 9,000 to 17,000 USD. On all official papers, the language of instruction must be explicitly stated. Please keep in mind that these credits should not come from a preparation program or beginner English classes.
  • Other countries receive 60 points.
  • Without IELTS, students possessing the equivalent of 60 ECTS credits from the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Jamaica, or English-speaking areas of Canada meet the English requirement. The language of instruction must be English. Please note that these credits should not come from a preparatory or introductory program.

Study in Sweden Masters

In Sweden, a master’s degree can be one or two years long. This will usually consist of roughly 75% coursework and 25% research for a thesis project.
