AP Grama Volunteer

Grama/ward volunteer is a post released by Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Rural Department. The main objective of a Grama Volunteer is to deliver doorstep services, other than that various tasks are given to the candidates from time to time.

  • Organising Body – Government of Andhra Pradesh
  • Name of the post Grama Volunteer
  • Number of vacancies–  More than 4 lakh ( 1 vacancy for 50 families in any village)
  • Mode of APGV  Online
  • Age Limit – 18-35 years
  • Pay Scale – Rs 5000/- per month
  • Date of application (as expected) – last week of June 2020
  • Announcement of selected candidates – First Week of August 2020
  • Date of start of Training Class – 5-10th August
  • Postings – 15th August onwards

Eligibility Criteria

All those who are interested must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to avoid further rejection of the application.

  1. Age Limit: 18-35 years ( as of June 2020)
  2. Qualifications:  
    • *For Tribal Areas – Intermediate
    • *For Rural Areas – High School
    • *For Urban Areas- Undergraduate
  3. Other Criteria:
    • *The applicant must be a resident of same Grama Panchayat
    • *Integrated caste certificate for other than OC

How to apply for AP Grama Volunteer 2020?

Interested candidates after carefully going through the eligibility criteria can follow the steps below to apply for online application.

  • STEP 1: Visit the Official Website of Grama Volunteer ( gramavolunteer.ap.gov.in). Now select the ” Apply for village volunteer” option and proceed.
  • STEP 2: Check the box under eligibility criteria and click the “I accept” button.
  • STEP 3: Enter all the details asked like qualifications, DOB, your adhar number. Click on ‘send OTP’ ( OTP will be sent to the number registered with your adhar card.)
    • Verify the OTP and move on to the next page.
  • STEP 4: Upload your photo as per the required format. Enter your email address, your category details, and upload your category certificate.
  • STEP 5: Recheck all the details and apply for the final selection.

After a successful application, you will get a confirmation message by SMS and email Id.

  • Adhaar Card
  • Proof of DOB
  • Qualification certificate
  • Address Proof
  • Category Certificate
  • PWD Certificate/ Medical Certificate (If Applicable)
  • Recent passport size photograph

Selection Procedure

An interview is conducted by the selection committee after the successful completion of the application. Committee members include MPDO/ Tahsildar etc

Parameters for the interview are as follows-

    • Value system (Honesty, Morality, etc)
    • Empathy
    • Social Responsibility
    • Orientation towards bringing results
  • •20 Marks
    • General Knowledge about various Govt. Schemes
    • Social Issues
    • Village Development Plans
  • •15 Marks
    • Leadership Qualities
    • Communication Skills

Candidates must score average marks in all three sections in order to be selected for the post.

After the selection process, the letter of engagement is issued to the candidates who are selected by the chairman of the selection committee.

Candidates have to go through the training for two days before posting.

The performance of a village volunteer is strictly regulated by the Panchayat secretary at the village level and district collector at the district level.

Reservations in AP Grama Volunteer 2020

*For women candidates – 50% 

*Places that are left vacant due to the nonavailability of certain communities will be filled with other available communities accordingly.
