The CBSE Class 10 result 2019 was declared on 6 May 2019 for exams held from 15 February to 4 April 2019. The overall pass percentage was 91.10 percent, a sharp rise over 2018, and 13 students topped nationally with 499 out of 500 marks each.
In 2019 girls outperformed boys, and Thiruvananthapuram was the top-performing region with a 99.85 percent pass rate, followed by Chennai and Ajmer. The table below shows how the overall Class 10 pass percentage has moved since then, up to the latest verified 2026 figure.

How Has the CBSE Class 10 Exam Changed in 2026?
From 2026, CBSE conducts Class 10 board exams twice a year under the National Education Policy. The first 2026 exam ran from 17 February to 10 March, and its result was declared on 15 April 2026 with a record 93.70 percent pass percentage. No merit list is published.
The two-exam model lets students sit a second board exam for improvement without any stigma, and the better of the two attempts is counted. This is the biggest structural change since the 2019 cycle, when only a single annual examination was held.

When Were the CBSE Class 10 2019 Results Declared?
CBSE declared the Class 10 2019 results on 6 May 2019 on its official portal, cbseresults.nic.in. The written examinations were conducted between 15 February and 4 April 2019. Students could also access scores through DigiLocker, the UMANG app and the IVRS phone service shortly after the official declaration.
The 2019 declaration followed the usual pattern of a May result for a February-March examination. In 2026, by contrast, the first board result arrived earlier, on 15 April, reflecting the new twice-a-year schedule.

Submit to view and download the scorecard. DigiLocker and the UMANG app offer the same result.

What Is the Minimum Passing Mark in CBSE Class 10?
A student must score at least 33 percent to pass each subject in the CBSE Class 10 board examination. Candidates who miss the cut-off in one or two subjects can sit the compartment, or supplementary, examination held a few months later. From 2026, the second board exam also serves this improvement purpose.
The 33 percent threshold has remained consistent across the 2019 and 2026 cycles. What has changed is the safety net: instead of waiting for a separate compartment exam, 2026 students can use the second board exam to improve a weak subject score.
