Established in 1985, Pondicherry University has a lush green campus spread over 780 acres. Pondicherry University was established with a vision to become an institute of global eminence. It is the youngest and most renowned central university of South India located in Kalapet, Pondicherry. The university was established to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities.

Pondicherry University Entrance exam

Pondicherry University Entrance exam is going to be conducted in the third week of September. The exam was scheduled to be held in August but due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the dates have been revised. It is an online-based entrance exam designated to be held at different centers. Pondicherry University Exams 2020

 The dates of the exams are already announced and students are busy in their last preparation. The exam is of MCQ mode and students need to keep the following points in their mind for better preparation:

• 100 question in 120 minutes
• +4 marks for correct answers and -1 for wrong answers
• Keep on revising the portions which you have already covered
• Don’t start with any new topic now

Pondicherry University of Distance education

It was established with a vision to attain leadership in spearheading qualitative and responsible academic programs relevant to society through cost-effective off-campus distance mode of education. The distance education program was started in the year 1995-96. The courses offered are MBA, M.Com Finance and M.A English, Hindi, and Sociology.

• The conventional courses include UG, PG, and MBA

Pondicherry University Biotechnology

The department of biotechnology was established in 1992. It offers P.hD , M.Sc, and PG Diploma in biotechnology. To get admission in biotechnology students have to face an entrance examination conducted on pan India level. The department is supported by DST-FIST and UGC-SAP programs. They pay high value to research and development and the published articles of research work have been on the top journals. Organizations like UGC, DST, DBT, CSIR, and Puducherry Government give research grants to the department.

Pondicherry University B.Tech

The B.Tech and other engineering courses are offered at affiliate colleges under PU. M.Tech,B.Tech and B.Arch courses are offered at Pondicherry University.

Pondicherry University B.Ed.

PU runs a two-year B.Ed degree program. It is a non-semester program. A candidate is eligible for admission provided he/she has completed three years bachelor’s degree course or an integrated five-year master’s degree program. The program duration is two academic years and there should be at least 200 working days each year. The department also provides a 4-week school internship to the students where they get to observe and understand the role of teachers in an actual scenario. Pondicherry University MCA

The Department of Computer Science provides M.Tech, P.hD, MCA, and M.Sc in computer science. Admission to MCA is based on entrance examinations. The examination consists of 100 questions of objective type. The topics which are covered in the entrance exam include logical reasoning, mathematical, verbal and analytical ability, and general awareness in Computer Science. The university also provides placement assistance to students in brands like TCS, Honeywell, Verizon, Wipro, Infosys, and alike.

Pondicherry University P.hD

To take admission to Pondicherry University Ph.D. course candidates have to appear for an interview. The list of shortlisted candidates is available on the university’s website. The selected candidates have to come with a two-page research proposal indicating the topic of proposed research, objectives, methodology, and significance. A PowerPoint presentation of a maximum of 5 slides on the topic of proposed research also needs to be presented by the candidates.
