The SSC CHSL admit card is officially called the Admission Certificate, and it is the only document that lets you enter the examination hall for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination. What Is the SSC CHSL Admit Card 2026?
The SSC CHSL admit card is the Admission Certificate issued online by the Staff Selection Commission to every candidate whose application is provisionally accepted. It carries your roll number, examination city, reporting time and centre address, and you must bring a printout of it to sit for the Tier-I computer based examination.
Under Para 14.1 of the 2026 Notice, all candidates who register by the closing date and whose applications are found in order are assigned roll numbers and issued Admission Certificates for the computer based examination. Candidates who later qualify a stage are issued fresh Admission Certificates for the next stage, so a Tier-I certificate does not cover Tier-II.
Acceptance at this stage is only provisional. The Commission does not scrutinise eligibility documents before the examination, so holding an admit card is not proof that your age, qualification or category claim has been accepted. Those certificates are checked later at document verification by the indenting ministry or department.
When Will the SSC CHSL 2026 Admit Card Be Released?
No admit card date exists yet. The Notice dated 07-09-2026 lists both the Tier-I and Tier-II schedules as to be notified later. Once dates are announced, the Commission uploads the examination city and time table about 10 days ahead, and opens the Admission Certificate download 2 to 3 days before the paper.
The sequence the Commission follows is fixed even when the dates are not. First the city of examination and the time table appear on the website roughly 10 days before the examination. The Admission Certificate download link goes live only 2 to 3 days before the paper, on the Commission website and on the website of the Regional Office whose jurisdiction covers your chosen centre.
Para 14.4 of the Notice adds an important safeguard. If you cannot find your details on the Commission website one week before the examination date, you must contact the concerned Regional Office immediately with proof that you submitted your application. Failing to do so removes any claim for consideration.

The application fee is Rs 100. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and eligible Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying it.

Open the Commission website or the Regional Office site covering your centre, click the Admission Certificate link for the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination, sign in with your registration number or roll number and date of birth, then download and print the certificate. Keep the printout safe until the examination is over.
- Go to the official Staff Selection Commission website at ssc.gov.in, or to the Regional Office website under whose jurisdiction your chosen examination centre falls.
- Open the Admission Certificate or admit card link for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026.
- Enter your registration number or roll number along with your date of birth or password to sign in.
- Check every detail on the certificate, especially your name, date of birth, photograph, centre address and reporting time.
- Download the file and take a clear printout on plain paper. The Commission requires you to carry the printout to the examination hall.
If you have forgotten your registration number, the Commission website offers a recovery route using your name, your father's name and your date of birth. Recover the number first, then return to the Admission Certificate link and sign in normally.
Candidates with benchmark disabilities who opted for their own scribe have an extra step. When the Admission Certificate goes live, you enter the scribe's One Time Registration number on the portal, key in the one time password sent to the scribe, and the system then generates both your Admission Certificate and the scribe's Entry Pass.
Which Regional Website Issues Your Admit Card?
Admission Certificates are issued on the Commission website and on the site of the Regional Office covering your examination centre. The Commission runs nine such offices: Central, Eastern, Karnataka Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, North Eastern, Northern, North Western, Southern and Western. Each publishes the certificate link for the centres in its jurisdiction.
The addresses below are the ones printed in the 2026 Notice of Examination. If a regional domain does not open, reach the same links through the Candidate's Corner on ssc.gov.in rather than through any private website.

You choose three centres in order of priority within a single region when you fill the application form. The Notice is blunt about the consequence: no request for a change of centre at any stage or tier will be considered later under any circumstances, so pick carefully.

Carry the printed Admission Certificate, at least two recent passport size colour photographs, and one original valid photo identity proof showing the date of birth printed on your certificate. If your photo identity card does not show a date of birth, bring an additional original document that proves it, or you will not be allowed to sit.
The Notice accepts the following original photo identity documents:
- Voter identity card
- Driving licence
- PAN card
- Passport
- Identity card issued by a university, college or school
- Employer identity card issued by a government office or public sector undertaking
- Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book issued by the Ministry of Defence
- Any other photo bearing identity card issued by the Central or a State Government
If the date of birth on your identity proof does not match the one on the Admission Certificate, you will not be allowed to appear. Where the identity card carries no date of birth, carry an original matriculation certificate, a marks sheet issued by CBSE, ICSE or a State Board, a birth certificate, a category certificate or a passport as the extra proof.
The Commission has implemented Aadhaar based biometric authentication for this examination. Candidates who could not complete Aadhaar based authentication must report at the centre two hours before the scheduled start of the examination, instead of the usual reporting time on the certificate.
What Is the SSC CHSL 2026 Exam Pattern on the Admit Card?
Tier-I is a one hour computer based paper of 100 objective questions carrying 200 marks, split into four parts of 25 questions and 50 marks each, with a 15 minute sectional timer per subject. Every wrong answer costs 0.50 marks. Qualified candidates then sit Tier-II across two sessions.

Candidates eligible for a scribe get 80 minutes in total, with a sectional timer of 20 minutes for each subject. Negative marking in Tier-I is 0.50 marks for every wrong answer, and scores are normalised when the paper runs in multiple shifts.
Tier-II runs in two sessions on the same day. Session-I lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes and covers Section-I, which pairs Mathematical Abilities with Reasoning and General Intelligence, Section-II, which pairs English Language and Comprehension with General Awareness, and Section-III, a 15 minute Computer Knowledge Test. Session-II is Section-IV, the Skill Test or Typing Test. Negative marking in Sections I to III is 1 mark per wrong answer.
The Typing Test for Lower Division Clerk and Junior Secretariat Assistant needs 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi. Data Entry Operators face a skill test of 8,000 key depressions per hour, rising to 15,000 key depressions per hour for posts in the departments named in Para 8.1 of the Notice. Minimum qualifying marks are 30 per cent for unreserved candidates, 25 per cent for OBC and EWS, and 20 per cent for all other categories.

You must be between 18 and 27 years old as on 01-08-2026, which means born between 02-08-1999 and 01-08-2008, and you must have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination. Data Entry Operator posts in three named departments additionally require 12th standard in the Science stream with Mathematics.
The 2026 examination recruits for Lower Division Clerk or Junior Secretariat Assistant at Pay Level-2, which runs from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200, and for Data Entry Operator at Pay Level-4, Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100, and Pay Level-5, Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300. Data Entry Operator Grade A sits at Pay Level-4.
Candidates who have appeared in the 12th standard examination may apply, provided they hold the essential qualification on or before the cut off date of 07-10-2026. Age relaxation beyond the upper limit is available to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and other categories listed in Para 5.2 of the Notice.
What Should You Do If the Admit Card Does Not Appear?
Contact the concerned Regional Office at once with proof that you submitted your application if your details are missing from the Commission website one week before the examination. The Notice warns that failing to do so removes any claim for consideration, and no correspondence without your registration number and roll number is entertained.
Two ordinary causes explain most missing admit cards. The first is an unpaid or failed fee transaction, because an application whose fee never reaches the Commission is not treated as complete. The second is a rejected application, most often from a blurred photograph or a blurred signature upload, though that requirement is relaxed for candidates who completed Aadhaar based authentication.
