What to Pack When Moving to the USA for Studies

Congratulations on your acceptance to a US university! Here's a guide to packing for your study abroad adventure.

Pack your passport, visa, and I-20 form safely and securely. These are the most important documents you'll need to travel to and study in the USA.

You'll need to bring some money with you when you move to the USA. This will cover your initial expenses, such as food, accommodation, and transportation. You can bring cash, traveller's checks, or credit cards.

Credit cards are a convenient way to pay for things in the USA. Make sure you bring a few different cards with you, just in case one gets lost or stolen.

If you have a driver's licence from your home country, you can use it to drive in the USA. However, you'll need to get an international driver's permit as well.

Prepare a contact list with names, addresses, and phone numbers of your family and friends in the USA and your home country. It'll be useful if you need to reach out while abroad.

You'll need to pack enough clothing to last you for the first few weeks or months. Make sure to pack a variety of clothing for different weather conditions.
