Hamilton

Located in Hamilton, New Zealand, Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) was founded in 1924. Wintec has three main campuses in Hamilton, the Hamilton City campus, Hamilton Gardens campus and Rotokauri campus (formerly Avalon campus) along with providing facilities at the Thames and the Otorohanga trade training center.

	<li style="font-weight: 400;">Wintec offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree, diploma, certificate courses along with other short-term courses for both new tertiary education candidates and for working professionals.</li>
	<li style="font-weight: 400;">The institute’s main feature is the purpose-built environments so that students can be taught in a practical way which will influence how they use their skills and knowledge in their career. Sport-science performing hub, specialist restaurant and kitchens, and others are essential to a student learning at Wintec.</li>

Originally established as the Hamilton Technical College in 1924 in Hamilton, New Zealand, its main purpose was to offer high-quality vocational courses. In 1968, the institute was later renamed to Waikato Technical Institute and in 1987 was renamed again to The Waikato Polytechnic, and later in 2001, its current name was finalized. The institute has grown over the years to have currently offering courses in about 12 different fields and having different centers for each of them. A unique feature of Wintec is the Design Factory NZ that offers young creatives and highly innovative minds to experiment with their ideas and participate in making innovations for the next generation.
