Bangor University is located in Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales. The university received the Royal Charter in 1885. It was one of the founding institutions for the Federal University of Wales. In 2007, it became independent from the University of Wales and was named as Bangor University. Earlier it had names such as University College of North Wales and then, University of Wales, Bangor.
