<h3>History</h3>
Its history begins in 1971 when five individual colleges were brought together as The City of Birmingham Polytechnic. Three more colleges were incorporated into the Polytechnic namely Anstey College of Physical Education, Bordesley College of Education and City of Birmingham College of Education in 1975. In 1992 it achieved University status and changed its name to "University of Central England in Birmingham". Finally, in 2007 the University changed its name to Birmingham City University and also received a new logo.
