Overview

Computers have become the daily parts of our busy lives as they have transformed the society up to a great extent. For scientific researches and daily works, computers have not only revolutionized the old system but have also created new opportunities in different fields regarding how the information will be processed to give valuable data to a user. Computer science basically involves the study and research of the certain predefined set of rules that are necessary for automatic processes and to manipulate data according to the need. This also involves, for example, creating protocols for efficient search of large heaps of data or securing data so that it can be transferred safely over a path between a source and destination. Computer research helps scientists to use computer algorithms effectively and efficiently that have different sets to tell computer what process to execute.

Some computer programs are very tough and need complex algos, computer research scientists try to ease these instructions in order to run the computers efficiently. The algorithm became the base for upgradation in various types of technologies such as machine learning and big data. Computer researcher also works with electronic engineers and computer hardware engineers to work on projects of different disciplines.

Eligibility

There are basically four stages to get involved in this stream of research. In order to get a bachelor degree in computer science (research) one need to have science subjects with mathematics in the intermediate class of the school. The first stage i.e. the bachelor's degree is 4 year course program that help an individual to get admitted to the masters degree stage i.e. the second stage of this computer research stream. As masters’ is done for specialization in particular areas of the computer, one needs to make a final year project on the desired subject to get admitted to a reputed interview.

Some institutions require an overall minimum 6 CGPA to study masters’ in a specific subject. Most of the computer and information researchers have a bachelor's degree with a major in streams like computer science, information technology and/or software development. After a graduating in a 4 year program and specializing in a particular field of computer during masters’ degree, computer researchers earn a Ph.D. in computer science which again require an overall CGPA 6 with references from the university which can be earned through the major projects on computer research.

Types of degrees

There are 4 types of degrees in the Computer research:

Associate Degrees

The associate degree in the area of Computer Research, an individual studies courses that help to prepare the candidate for entry-level jobs in the computer field, and one can easily earn this degree in less than two years. These associate degrees are mostly offered technical community colleges and schools. The main focus of this degree is to make individuals skilled in computers so that they work as web developers and computer technicians (mainly support technicians).

Bachelor’s Degrees 

The bachelor’s degree in stream of Computers Research with various technologies prepare students for a various high reputed job opportunities as well as study in reputed universities for higher degrees. Mostly bachelor’s degree in this stream provides the opportunity to choose a special field for specialization. For example, one can enroll himself in various streams like bachelor’s degree in computer engineering with information systems, pure computer science and data technology.

Master’s Degrees

The master’s degree in Computer Research, prepare students to do research or migrate to mentorship roles in this area.
