The ‘Limestone City’ Kingston is located on the east of Lake Ontario. Its economy relies on education, government, health, tourism and such.
Kingston is home to many prominent educational hubs. The city’s focus on education is highlighted by the fact that it has the highest numbers of PhD holders per capita out of all cities in the country. One of Canada’s, and the world’s, most renowned universities, Queen’s University is based in Kingston. The alma mater of world leaders, Rhodes scholars and the like, the institute’s MBA degree is one of the best in Canada. Its law degree is eminent as well, and as are its social sciences degrees. In addition to its academic excellence, the university is esteemed for the employability of its graduates.
The Royal Military College of Canada metes out education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Its aim is to train and prepare students for serving in all areas of the military and its offices. The student population of the university consists of a multitude of international students. Other than these two institutes, St. Lawrence College also provides education in fields such as microelectronics, business and nursing.
