About Ryerson University

History

The university was established in 1948. It was called as the Ryerson Institute of Technology before and in 1966 its name was changed to Ryerson Polytechnic Institute. The institute is situated on the historic St James Square, where the Toronto Normal School was established in 1852 by chief administrator of Canada Education, Egerton Ryerson .In 2001 it gained its present name and started offering courses in various fields. 95.3% of Ryerson graduate students got employment two years after graduation.

Admission Procedures

How to Apply

Students must have completed Australian Year 12 or International equivalent as well as possess the expected skills and aptitude. Students need to give the IELTS, PTE and TOEFL for English language requirements.

  • Identify location of campus, university and the stream of your interest
  • Request university for Application form
  • Take various required entrance tests
  • Arrange and prepare the essays and recommendation letters with SOPs
  • Report your test scores to the university.

Student Life

The student media has the hold on the campus radio station CJRU. The students also have newspaper released called the Eyeopener, the Ryersonian, Ryerson Review of Journalism.

International students have group activities with country counterparts like sports events where everybody enjoys. International students like other universities are also provided facilities to work inside the university departments in case they have heavy education loans. The part time job can be of a waiter or an assistant.

The on-campus details are on their official website, it is home to 850 students in the residence buildings. There are 4 residential buildings namely DCC, HOEM, ILC, PIT. The homestay gives the student a comfortable surrounding with the local Canadians.

The cost of living near campus is very high to high demands of rooms; this problem persists all over the Australian major cities. Other expenses are also high in the areas nearby to the campus due to high number of students around the campus. However, little away from campus reduces the cost of living considerably.
