About Carnegie Mellon University
Carnegie Mellon University is a research university that is situated in the oldest neighborhood of Pittsburgh. It was established in 1900 by Andrew Carnegie. The University provides a developing and challenging environment to make both learning and teaching better. There are more than 14,000 students, and a faculty of over 1,300 who are Nobel laureates and renowned award winners from 51 countries. The University offers a variety of interdisciplinary programs.
Carnegie Mellon University Campus
Carnegie Mellon University has a campus of 140 acres which is about 57 Hectares and is about 3 miles far from Pittsburgh downtown ally which is in between Squirrel Hill and Oakland neighborhoods. The university's west campus is on the side of Pittsburgh Downtown Alley. The campus has beautiful architecture and structures which are given by Henry Horbostel who was a winner of the 1904 Design competition. The campus has a big lawn and five big cafeterias for students. There are separate cafeterias for students and faculties. Henry Hornbostel was the founder of the Design Academy at Carnegie Mellon University.

Carnegie Mellon University was among the top 25 research universities in America in 2009. The university was ranked as one of the top universities of the USA for mainly Computer Science stream, Engineering Branch and the Fine Arts Program. It was also declared as the only university which was best at Public Affairs and was also ranked at 20th level for best University having programs in Economics Branch. Times Higher Education ranked the university at 47th level as one of the Best Universities in the world. According to American news, the university was ranked at 77th position.
