About California State University

The California State University system was established in 1960 as part of the California Master Plan for Higher Education and is a direct descendent of the 1857-founded California State Normal Schools. The CSU is the country's largest generator of bachelor's degrees, with about 100,000 graduates each year. The university system supports more than 150,000 employees in the state, with yearly expenditures totalling more than $17 billion.

California State University Acceptance Rate

It has a 69% acceptance rate in the Fall of 2019, making admissions fairly selective. This semester, a total of 16,311 applications were sought for admission, with 11,254 students being accepted. Only 26% of these candidates were accepted, and only 26% of those who were accepted enrolled. As a result, completing the minimal qualifying requirements does not ensure acceptance.

California State University Students

Currently, 89 per cent of students are pursuing an undergraduate degree, 2% are pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree, 9% are pursuing a master's degree, and fewer than 1% are pursuing a PhD degree. Every year, CSUSB offers admission to about 20,000 students.

Last year, there were 20,311 students enrolled in total, including 18,114 undergraduates.
