ABOUT COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA

The College of New Caledonia founded in 1969, is a well-known postsecondary academic institution serving the people of British Columbia's Central Interior. This area has around 145,000 people and 3 school districts: Prince George (Nechako Lake) and Quesnel.

Students can choose from a wide choice of vocational, technical, and university credit programs at the CNC. The college has 6 locations in various parts of the country and provides both offline & online certificate, diploma, and post-diploma programs.

COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA CAMPUS

Six campuses make up the College of New Caledonia. Out of the 6, the Prince George campus is the first & the main one. It contains four structures: the main campus, Nicholson campus, John Brink Trades, and Technology Centre, as well as the Tech. Education Centre. This campus features a full-size gymnasium, weight room, yoga classes, and squash courts. It also serves as the home of the Students' Union at the College.

College of New Caledonia has about a 55 – 60% acceptance rate. The university has a modest admissions policy. The application is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into account both academic & non-academic accomplishments. Then college considers their academic average, interview scores, merit, work & education experience, and other factors to evaluate students' performance. COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA STUDENTS

The college of Caledonia enrolls about 5,000 students each year across the board in trades, health science, university studies, job access, & continuing education. Furthermore, as required by its faculty agreement, the College of Caledonia maintains smaller class sizes of no more than 37 students. Because of smaller classes and a low student population, each student receives the individual attention they require from the staff.

COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA SCHOLARSHIPS

The College of Caledonia offers approximately 300 student scholarships, awards & bursaries ranging in value from $250 - $1500, a few based on academic excellence, and some others depending on financial necessity. These rewards, unlike loans, don't require repayment.

  • Edu. Study Abroad (Bursary $500) – The Abroad Bursaries have been established by the CNC Int. Education Dept. to assist students in seeking Study Abroad options. Bursaries are given to qualified students who are enrolled in a college's abroad study program. Applicants must have completed at least 1 semester.
  • CNC Ex. Study Abroad (Scholarship $500 - $3000) – The college provides scholarships to students of CNC interested in studying abroad. Students with good academic status & interest in CNC internationalization efforts are eligible for these awards, which are offered competitively. A selection procedure will be applied to all applicants.
  • Irving Barber 1 World Int. (Scholarship $1,000 - $3,500) – Students from across all parts of British Columbia who show a mix of high academic accomplishment & community activity, as well as specified career & educational ambitions, are awarded a scholarship ranging from $1,000 - $3,500. CNC collects & adjudicates applications for students of CNC alone.
  • BCSA Consortium – The BC Study Abroad aka BCSA Consortium's a collaboration of British Columbia postsecondary colleges dedicated to encouraging students to receive foreign educational experience through short-term study programs in a variety of disciplines & destinations throughout the world.

HOW TO APPLY TO THE COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA?

Each year, the College of New Caledonia provides 3 semesters of programs. Jan, May, & Sept are the three intake dates. It is preferable to apply 6 months before the term in which you intend to enroll. However, eligible candidates can apply till the date of joining of each term, as long as seats in the program they apply for are available. If the program involves a selection procedure, it is advised that you apply by 31st March of the following year for fall starting dates. Late applications are frequently accepted by programs with open space.

College of New Caledonia Eligibility

It's not difficult for domestic or international students to gain admission to New Caledonia College since it is moderately selective. However, entrance eligibility is determined by meeting nationality, age, and academic standards. The qualifications for admission are usually determined by the applicant's native country & current educational level.

POST-DIPLOMA & DIPLOMA IN COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA

The NCBNP is a 4-year degree program with 136 credits, 95 of which are necessary for nursing. Students will get a BScN degree from UNBC after graduation from this program.

LIFE AT COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA

  • In the second year, new foreign students might be guided by an International Student Leader through the Peer Connections plan.
