Williamsburg, a city, situated in the US state of Virginia. It is the capital of the Virginian colony founded in 1699. The original money was Jamestown, which was the first English speaking settlement in 1607. Post partition, the capital shifted to the Middle plantation situation in between the James and York river. Due to the loss of capital city status, the city was not given prominence, and hence, it struggled to save the ancient buildings. The restoration of the city began in 1926, and it gained importance during the visit of Franklin D. Roosevelt and has maintained the mark since then.
