About Curtin University

Curtin University, Australia's first technology institution, was founded in 1966 and is an innovative, worldwide university. The Western Australian Institute of Technology was the University's previous name. The Australian Technology Network, the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning, and Open Universities Australia are all affiliated.

The Western Australian Parliament gave it university status in 1986. Curtin University is reported to collaborate with more than 90 institutions. The institution has been actively engaged in numerous academic and practical theories and research as a part of the Australian Innovation Network.

Curtin University Campus

Curtin University has nine campuses spread across five countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, etc. Perth, Kalgoorlie, Midland, Murray Street, and St. Georges Terrace are among the University's Australian campuses.

The major Curtin University campus is around 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) southeast of Perth's core business area in Bentley, Western Australia. Well within the Perth metro area, Curtin offers three minor off-campus sites. The Graduate School of Business is housed in the redeveloped former Government Printing Office in Perth's city centre. In contrast, the law school is housed on Murray Street in the old Public Department Of health and Chief Secretary's building, outlined on the State Register of Heritage Places.

How to Apply to Curtin University?

Curtin University accepts applications directly via its website or through an international representative in its native country. Students need to get all non-English papers translated by accredited translators in Australia. Students should also keep in mind that their English proficiency exam results must be no more than two years old to be approved.

  • Curtin College accepts applications in four different methods.
    • Apply online.
    • Apply via an agent in your country
    • Apply in person at Curtin College Perth.
    • Apply via post/paper application.
  • All applications will need copies of supporting paperwork, such as academic transcripts (encoded if not in English), English test scores (if English is not the primary language), and identity confirmation.
  • The date they get the application is the day on which they receive it.
  • If your application is accepted, you will get a Letter of Offer stating which course has been provided, the fees due, any restrictions that must be satisfied (if any), orientation information, and the course start date.

Curtin University Eligibility

Curtin University offers different admittance eligibility depending on your country of origin. Some credentials vary by country, such as the English Language; Indian students must take English at the Senior Secondary and Higher Secondary levels.

Eligibility for UG

  • Normative requirements:
    • The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) awards the Indian School Certificate (ISC) to students who achieve a grade average of at least 60% in the top four courses and at least 60% in English.
    • All India Senior School Certificate with an average grade of 60% in the top four courses and at least 60% in English.
  • Language requirements in English:
    • Separate proof of English proficiency includes an IELTS score of 6.0 overall (no particular band below 6.0), a GCE grade of E, or an SPM English grade of C.

Eligibility for PG

You must provide proof of attainment of a degree from a recognized institution and proof of English language competency to be admitted to Curtin. Additionally, you may be required to complete certain course prerequisites.

Because all Curtin courses are taught in English, you must complete Curtin's English Medium requirements by completing a bachelor's degree program where English was the medium of education. On a case-by-case basis, this will be considered.

Eligibility for PhD

Candidates for the Master of Philosophy program must have a bachelor's degree with first or second-class honours or comparable; a postgraduate diploma or its equivalent; or a bachelor's degree with outstanding performance and relevant and meaningful job experience.

Doctor of Philosophy candidates must have earned a master's degree by research or a bachelor's degree with first or upper second-class honours. Applicants with merely a Bachelor's degree who can show excellent academic success, considerable research or job experience, and the ability to do major research may be evaluated.

Applications for research-based higher degrees may be submitted at any time of the year. To discuss the appropriateness of your suggested research subject, you will need to contact the Dean, Curtin Malaysia Graduate School, or Faculty Postgraduate Studies Coordinator, Dean of Faculty, Head of Department, or any particular academic staff member in the appropriate teaching area. You must also fulfil Curtin's entrance criteria and guarantee that you have a supervisor and the necessary facilities to conduct your study.
