Founded in 1818, Dalhousie is one of Canada’s oldest universities, attracting more than 18,200+ students from around the world. Students can also choose to study at the Faculty of Agriculture attend school in picturesque Truro, NS where they have access to state-of-the-art facilities and are within an hour of many of the province’s main attractions, including vibrant Halifax.

How To Apply at the University of Dalhousie?

Applicants are required to have completed Grade 12 with a minimum overall average of 70% in 5 academic grade 12 courses.

  • Complete the graduate application form.
  • Pay application fee of $115.
  • Submit all the documents to the academic department in which you are applying.
  • An official academic transcript and degree certificate for each post-secondary institution attende is sent directly from the university.
  • Other supplementary documentation, such as English language proficiency scores, GMAT, GRE, CV, statement of intent, statement of research interests, portfolio, etc. as required by your department.
  • If you plan to self-fund your studies, please include an original teller stamped or equivalent bank statement showing that you have sufficient funds for your full program fees plus $1200 per month for the full term of your studies.

  • The campus has five athletics facilities. 
  • They have a sports team for individuals to participate in different sports. The sports teams are called the Tigers 
  • Dal After Dark is organized on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
  • It also hosts a Society Fair every year in which all societies display their efforts and recruit new members.
  • The university also has its own student newspaper called The Dalhousie Gazette.
