The university currently owns about 254 buildings which is based across 8,691 acres of land which includes 7,044 acres of Duke Forest. The University owns about 15 acres on the Atlantic Coast in Beaufort as part of there Marine Lab. One of the major attractions of the University is the Sara P.Duke Gardens which was established in the 1930s. The University is further divided into four main campuses: West, East, and Central Campuses and The Medical Center. These all are connected via free bus service.
