Founded in 1892, London South Bank University is one of the largest universities in London. It has 15,000+ students, out of which 2,000 are international students from 130+ countries. The main campus is situated in Southwark, south of river Thames. 
LSBU offers a variety of postgraduate and graduate courses in science, technology, business, economics, arts, law, social sciences etc. It also has student exchanges and various study abroad programs.

London South Bank University has three campuses. The main campus is situated in Southwark which is in heart of South London. It is closely connected to the main city with Waterloo and London Bridge being the nearest stations. 

The other two campuses are situated in Croydon and Havering. The latter one is especially for Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing students.

How to apply to the London South Bank University

As an international student, there are two ways to apply for London South Bank University  – through the official website and UCAS application portal. There are different deadlines for every course, and it is needed to be checked by the students from time to time. With the deadlines, the application fees also vary from course to course. 

To apply at the London South Bank University from the university website, here are the following steps:

  • Visit the university portal here. Kindly keep in mind that you can only make 1 application and apply for two courses. 
  • Submit the required documents and fill the details carefully
  • One submitted, an email will be sent to you confirming your application and is being reviewed by an International Admissions Team
  • After the review, you will receive an email stating your application ID. You can track the status of the application using the ID 
  • Wait for the International Admissions Team to contact you with their final decisions.

  To apply at the London South Bank University through the UCAS portal, here are the steps:

  • Visit the website here and register with UCAS by filling in your details.
  • Complete the required details carefully
  • Enter all your qualifications from the secondary level of education
  • In case of employment history, fill the details if you had a job
  • Select your preferred courses
  • Write your personal statement in about 1,000-4,000 words
  • Submit the application
  • Add a reference and pay the application fees. 

Eligibility

There are certain eligibility requirements and criteria that need to be fulfilled by international students to apply at LSBU Every course has its own eligibility requirements to be fulfilled, however here are some generic ones.  

The candidate needs to have the required English Proficiency Test and needs to complete their senior secondary education. In addition to it, International Baccalaureate Certificate is also required. Students with higher scores in English subject at Standard XII will be given preference. 

Eligibility for Undergraduate courses

  • As an Indian Student, the minimum average of 55-65% is required to score at Standard XII from a relevant board.
  • 3 passes at GCE A level (also depends on LSBU course applied)
  • 24 points or higher in International Baccalaureate Certificate
  • Minimum 55-60% or higher in Accredited UK Foundation Programme 
  • 58% or higher in Accredited College or Polytechnic Diploma with a duration of 2-3 years

Eligibility for Postgraduate courses

  • 53-55% or higher - Honours Degree from a prestigious Indian University
  • 55% or higher – Honours degree from recognized Indian University
  • Honours (equivalent to UK bachelor’s degree Second Class Honours or higher) from a recognized international university
