Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), is a multidisciplinary university committed to excellence, creativity in education, research, public engagement, and academic innovation. The Memorial University was called the Memorial University College (MUC) initially. It was established in 1925 as a memorial to the Newfoundlanders who sacrificed their lives during World War I. Currently, Memorial University has a community of scholars and students worldwide, including 18,000 plus students from over 100 countries and more than 95,000 alumni worldwide. Memorial University is regarded as one of Atlantic Canada's largest and most prestigious universities.
Memorial University has four main and two satellite campuses. Its main campus is in St. John's and presents several academic programs in an urban setting. The University's Grenfell campus specializes in Liberal Arts, fine arts, Business Administration, and environmental programs. Its Marine Institute is considered one of the world's largest institutes for education, training, applied research, and technology transfer for the ocean industries. Harlow Campus is the international Campus of the Memorial University of Newfoundland. It makes Memorial University one of only two universities in Canada with Campus facilities in the United Kingdom.

Application deadlines vary by program. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in Advance. Students applying from outside of Canada and will need a study permit should ensure that they have sufficient time to process their study permit application.
All applicants must meet general admission requirements before being considered to a competitive entry program at Memorial University. After successfully applying with general admission and applying to a competitive-entry program, the application will be forwarded to that faculty/school for consideration.
Memorial University requires an overall average of at least 70% in the 10 credits used to fulfil the subject area requirements. Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required for faculty-specific admissions.
