About New York Film Academy
The New York Film Academy (NYFA) is a film and acting school with New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami locations. Jerry Sherlock, a former film, television, and theatre producer, founded the New York Film Academy in 1992. It was previously located in the Tribeca Film Center. NYFA relocated to 100 East 17th Street in Union Square in 1994, the former Tammany Hall building. The New York Film Academy has been working with museums and significant art organizations to conduct cultural and filmmaking education projects for teens and young people since 2007.

Masters in New York Film Academy
New York Film Academy offers exclusive MFA degree programs. Only the New York Film Academy's Los Angeles and South Beach, Miami campuses offer MFA degree programs. Qualified students can complete course work in a one-year non-degree program at the New York Film Academy in New York City and request that their credits be accepted for advanced standing in the MFA degree program at the Los Angeles or South Beach, Miami campuses. Applicants must present a creative portfolio (together with supporting materials) that demonstrates their creativity, professional potential, and ability to pursue graduate-level education.
