About Okanagan College

Okanagan College is a public post-secondary school that offers more than 120 certifications, diplomas, degrees, and programs, including apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship trades. Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, is home to the university's biggest campus. With over 8,500 full-time students on four regional campuses, Okanagan Institution was formed in 1963 and has since grown to be the biggest college in British Columbia outside of the Lower Mainland and Victoria. It is also the province's second-largest vocational school. Okanagan College now has over 1,000 foreign students from over 40 countries.

Okanagan College Campus

There are four primary campuses in Okanagan. The first is in Kelowna, which is situated on Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley." At the Kelowna Campus, the Trades Complex was refurbished and enlarged. The facility was completed in September 2016 and received LEED Platinum certification. It was recognized for its environmentally friendly architectural design. The Kelowna campus's Centre of Excellence first opened its doors in 2009. It's a LEED Gold-certified structure. The second campus is in Penticton, which is nestled between the Skaha and Okanagan lakes. The third campus is located in Vernon, British Columbia, and is named for former MLA Forbes George Vernon. The fourth campus is at Salmon Arm, British Columbia.

  • The Okanagan College President's Entrance Scholarship is for full-time students pursuing a degree, diploma, or certificate programs in trade, health, or continuing education. It provides up to 5000 or 1000 Canadian dollars.
  • For full-time art program students at Penticton Campus, the Penticton Campus Arts Entrance Scholarship is available. It gives you a chance to win up to 1000 CAD.
  • For full-time Science Program students at Penticton Campus, the Penticton Campus Science Entrance Scholarship is available. It gives you a chance to win up to 1000 CAD.

How to apply to Okanagan College

  • Winter (January), Summer (May), and Fall (September) are the three intakes at the college (September)
  • International students must apply to the college directly online using the international application form.
  • You can follow your application in my Okanagan account once you submit it. Please submit the essential items and consult Admissions for more information. Check your email regularly, and make sure Okanagan College is on your safe sender list.
  • Note: The College begins accepting applications for academic programs for the next Fall term on the first business day of October each year.
  • After completing their entire application, applicants should expect to hear back from the institution within 5-10 business days. In the event of special program needs, it may take longer.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for UG programs in Okanagan College are as follows:

The following are the general prerequisites for overseas students:

  • Students must have a secondary school diploma or certificate, or have completed Grade 12 at a recognized school or institution.
  • In secondary school, students must achieve a 70% average.
  • At the time of admission, students must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • TOEFL, scores of 79 or above are required.
  • The Bachelor of Business Administration degree requires IELTS scores of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.
  • Scores of 56 on the PTE, with a minimum of 55 in each component.
  • For the Bachelor of Business Administration, 58 is required, with a minimum of 55.

On and off-campus, Okanagan College encourages students to participate in leisure activities.
