UniversityCollegeDublin is developed from a body founded in 1854 as the Catholic University of Ireland, which opened on the Feast of Saint Malachy with John Henry Newman as its first professor; it was re-formed in 1880 and recognized in 1908. The university was renamed "National University of Ireland, Dublin" by the Universities Act of 1997, and the institution was renamed "University College Dublin – National University of Ireland, Dublin" by ministerial order in 1998.

  • Government of Ireland - International Education Scholarships: International Students who are studying undergraduate, postgraduate, and research level programs in the field of All Subjects taught at Ireland Universities and Athlone Institute of Technology Authorized Institutes are eligible for the scholarship. The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships Programme is happy to award scholarships through the Higher Education Authority (HEA). 
  • Successful candidates who have been offered a place at an able to qualify Irish university will be awarded 60 scholarships for one year of study at Bachelor, Masters, or Ph.D. levels under the initiative.

Amount of the scholarship:

  • The scholarship is worth €24,000 each year and covers up to €6,000 in university fees. It is renewable for four years. International students can apply for assistance, but they must raise funds on their own to offset the additional tuition rates charged to non-EU students.
  • Eligibility requirements include an honors degree in Microbiology, Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field. An Upper Second class is the typical academic qualification required for a Ph.D. fellowship.

How to apply in University College Dublin

University College Dublin has a rolling admission process so students can apply at any time in a year. The application fee for the Univeristy admission is 50 Euros and it is applicable for both undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses. But, international students need to check the deadline period of the Courses as few postgraduate courses have an earlier deadline than others. 

International students can Directly apply for the Univeristy through Online mode and on the Official Website of the University. And the application process is the same for Undergraduate courses and Postgraduate Courses.

The following is the application process for international students to apply in the University College Dublin:

  • Step 1: go to the University College Dublin Service portal related to admissions.
  • Step 2: Next, create a new account by providing details like name, contact details, Email ID, Password, etc.
  • Step 3: along with the personal details, you need to fill in the details related to courses, academic background details, etc by clicking on Add/Edit button in the application form.
  • Step 4: Finally, submit the application form by providing the necessary documents, and paying the application fee at the same time.
  • Note: Check the deadlines of the courses and apply before the deadline. As the acceptance rate is low for the Univeristy, students need to provide all the required documents along with English exam scores to the University.

Eligibility

The Eligibility criteria for Undegrdaute and Postgraduate courses is different and also there are country-specific requirements for international students to apply bin Univeristy College Dublin. Along with these, the University accepts various types of English Proficiency level exams like the Oxford test of English, the UK examining boards, etc including IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, exams. And students who are not qualified in the English exams need to take the University College Dublin English language Pathway Programs and submit the result to get qualified for admission into the Univeristy.

Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate students:

  • Students from India need at least 80% in English to apply for the University
  • Along with that, students need to secure the Higher secondary certificate in CBSE/ CISCE with a minimum of 72%. 
  • However, students who want to apply in Healthcare subjects need an average score of 81-97% marks with 80% in Maths is required.
  • Along with these, students need to submit the English proficiency level exams scores for the University.

Eligibility Criteria for PostGradute Students:

  • Along with the Standard XII marks students also need a 2:1 ( grade one) degree certificate in Bachelors to join Univeristy College Dublin.
  • And also students need to submit a personal statement along with the documents asked by the Univeristy at the time of admissions
  • Students should qualify in the English proficiency level exams along with GMAT and GRE exams as their scores are important for subjects like MBA, Science stream subject, etc.
