About University of Arizona

The University of Arizona was founded in 1885. It was established even before the state of Arizona was established. 27 years after its inception, the state of Arizona came into existence. It was recognized as Arizona's Land-grant university by the Morrill Land-grant Acts of 1862 and 1890.
