About University of Chester

The Institution of Chester is a public university in the English city of Chester. The university began as the UK's first purpose-built teacher education college. It provides a variety of foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses, as well as research opportunities. In 1839, the university was established as Chester Diocesan Training College.

Six campuses and a University Centre in Shrewsbury make up the University of Chester. The 32-acre Parkgate Road Campus in Chester is home to the University of Chester. Life at the University of Chester

Chester Students' Union (CSU) is a member of the NUS and provides services and facilities to students. Every year, four sabbatical officials are elected to serve for a maximum of two years.

The Union also sponsors over 110 sports clubs and organizations, with teams from each campus competing in British Universities and College Sports championships. The Union hosts an inter-campus tournament known as Varsity on campus once a year, in which athletic clubs such as seven-a-side football fight against non-sporting groups such as poker. The Debating Society, the Politics Forum, the Drama Society, the Amnesty International Society, the International Development Society, and the People and Planet Society are non-sporting organizations that have sponsored hustings events that have been covered on 'BBC North West Tonight.' The Cat Radio, a student radio station situated on the Warrington campus, transmits daily from September to July, with presenters on air.
