About Hertfordshire University

The University of Hertfordshire, Formerly known as Hatfield Technical College, is a prestigious public university that was established in 1952. This University mainly developed its roots in aeronautical engineering. In the year 1961, it was given the status of a regional college by the British Ministry of Education. The British Government gave this college the formal university status in the year 1992. The University has multiple extensive research centres in various fields, including mental health and human sciences, arts and humanities, science and technology.

Hertfordshire University Campus

The University of Hertfordshire has two campuses, namely De Havilland and College Lane, which are both highly popular choices, spread across sprawling premises. Both the campuses offer on-campus accommodation to the students. The De Haville, Campus of Herefordshire University, opened in the year 2005 and is equipped with a computer centre, library and a resource centre. How to Apply to University of Hertfordshire?

Admissions for UG and PG programmes at Hertfordshire University normally begin in July-August for the Fall (September) intake and November-December for the Spring (January) intake. There may be more than two intakes for MBA, MSc, and research programmes. The full-time MBA programme, for example, is typically provided in January, September, and December intakes. Admissions for undergraduate and graduate programs both usually begin in July-August for the Fall intake and November-December for the Spring intake. All applications are evaluated on a merit basis. Life at University of Hertfordshire

Life at Hertfordshire University is extremely vibrant and culturally rich. The main source of nightlife is three entertainment spaces, a restaurant, a café, a bar and onsite parking. Hertfordshire Students' Union (HSU) is the extremely active Students' Union of the University of Hertfordshire. The Hertfordshire Students' Union Social Centre was opened in 1977. The Hatfield Technical College had a management that encouraged the establishment of a Student Representative Council (SRC) around 1982 to create a sense of unity, belongingness and expand the social activities of its prized students. The SRC was affiliated directly to the National Union of Students but initially restricted itself largely to only social activities. After 1988 it began to actively campaign on issues such as improvements to the canteen, lifting the ban on religious or political activity/inclinations within the then Hatfield Polytechnic, and for a formal student's Union. The Union was granted in 1995. The University of Hertfordshire's Students' Union represents all of the University's students through organizing campus activities, demonstrations and administering many clubs and organizations ranging from sports to arts to entertainment.

The University of Hertfordshire is a great place to stay because it's only a half-hour train ride from London's King's Cross Station. There is accommodation both on-campus and off-campus. A variety of rooms are available, single double and en suite. All the rooms are well equipped and furnished.

UH is based in Hatfield and has two main campuses: College Lane (main) and de Havilland (secondary)., situated closely within a kilometre's radius. The campuses are also well-connected through a network of pathways, cycle, and shuttle bus routes. Another satellite campus that offers accommodation is the Bayfordbury Campus. It features a range of comprehensive facilities that play an integral part in student comfort. This site houses the University's observatory, which is utilized by various students as well as academics from the Technology Research Institute and the School of Physics, Astronomy, and Mathematics.
