About University of Kent

University of Kent is a public research university located in Kent, United Kingdom. It is a semi-collegiate institution that was granted the Royal Charter on 4th January, 1965. Main campus of the University is located in North of Canterbury within 300 acres of park land. The university has 6 colleges and the academic structure comprises 3 academic centres and 18 academic schools. The university has collaborations with 388 institutions across the globe. 

University of Kent Campus

The University of Kent has three campuses in Kent. The Canterbury campus is the main campus including six colleges, the Templeman Library, the Gulbenkian arts centre and the Mandela building. The campus offers exceptional academic, residential and dining facilities to students. 

The School of continuing education was established in the center of Tonbridge in 1982. Many other buildings were added in the 1980s and 1990s. The University of Kent at Tonbridge also collaborates with the Kent Business School and the Kent Innovation and Enterprise. 

The Medway campus is located close to the towns of Chatham and Rochester. The site was first built as a naval base, but in 2005 the university of Kent moved into the Medway campus. The campus has two historic sites Pembroke and the historic Dockyard Chatham. Students from various backgrounds come here to study different courses.

How to Apply to University of Kent

  • You need to find the course they wish to apply for and they need to check if they will be able to fulfill all the requirements as mentioned on the university website.

Eligibility For University of Kent 

There are certain eligibility requirements and criteria that students need to fulfill in order to be considered for admission to the University of Kent.

Each course has certain specific requirements but a few basic ones are:

  • The candidate needs to provide proof for English language proficiency if his/her first language is not English. 
  • Applicants need to submit their bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in order to apply for a masters degree.

  • For Politics and International Relations, candidates must score a minimum of 5.5 in IELTS, 48 in PTE Academic or 72 in TOEFL IBT.
  • For Sciences Foundation, candidates must score a minimum of 5.5 in IELTS, 48 in PTE Academic or 72 in TOEFL IBT.
  • For Pharmacy, candidates must score a minimum of 7 in IELTS, 68 in PTE Academic or 95 in TOEFL IBT.
  • For other graduate programs, candidates must score a minimum of 6.5 in IELTS, 62 in PTE Academic or 90 in TOEFL IBT. 

Eligibility for Post-graduate Courses

In order to be eligible for admission to a postgraduate course, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from any recognized institution.

The English Language Proficiency requirements for postgraduate courses is as follows:

  • For General Postgraduate programs, candidates need to score a minimum of 6.5 in IELTS, 62 in PTE Academic or 90 in TOEFL IBT 
  • For Graduate Diploma, candidates must score a minimum of 6 in IELTS, 54 in PTE Academic or 85 in TOEFL IBT 
  • For Kent Business School, candidates must score a minimum of 6.5 in IELTS, 62 in PTE Academic or 90 in TOEFL IBT
  • For Kent Law School, candidates need to score a minimum of 7 in IELTS, 68 in PTE Academic or 95 in TOEFL IBT
  • For School of Engineering, candidates must score a minimum of 6 in IELTS, 59 in PTE Academic or 85 in TOEFL IBT. 
  • For Medieval and Early Modern Sciences, candidates should score a minimum of 8.5 in IELTS or 104 in TOEFL IBT
