About University of South Wales

The South Wales University, earlier known as the University of Glamorgan, was founded in the year 2013. The Newport Institute, which was established in 1841, is the predecessor of this public university. The institute's goal was to educate tradesmen and workers. The Privy Council bestowed the status of the University of Wales on it in 2014. In 2013, the University of Wales and the University of Glamorgan amalgamated and become this university. Students can now choose from over 500 courses at this university.
