About University of Saskatchewan
It is a renowned public research university in Canada. It was established in 1907 in Canada. It is situated on the east side of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon. The university was established to provide higher education in all branches. The University has excellent facilities and it is a well-known research institute. According to the number of Canada research chair, the university is one of Canada’s top research universities. The university started as an agricultural college in 1907 and gradually it broadened its scope into the studies of medicine, arts, and sciences, law, engineering, theology, etc. The university is quite big and it has around 6 acres of land on the eastern bank of the River of South Saskatchewan. 200 hectares are allocated for the Innovative Place Research Park. The university is globally known for its teaching and research. The synchrotron Canadian Light Source makes it the only Canadian institution for such nuclear and biotechnology research. This facility provides research and analysis of the internal structures of advanced materials and biological samples.
University of Saskatchewan Campus
The university is located at the heart of Saskatchewan, near the South Saskatchewan River. The first university was built in Collegiate Gothic Style. The first building was opened in 1913. In 2001, it was considered as a National Historic Site of Canada. The university has an academic building, Saskatchewan Hall Student Residence, Engineering Building. In 1925 again the building was rebuilt after it was burned. The university has Barn and Stock Pavilion, Faculty Club, President's Residence, Qu'Appelle Hall Student Residence, Physics Building, Chemistry Building, and the Field Husbandry Building. The original building was built with limestone, grey stone; gradually grey stone has become one of the recognizable features of the campus. The main University campus is located on 981 ha (2,425 acres), with another 200 ha (500 acres) taken for Innovation Place Research Park. The university’s agriculture division also has access to nearby research lands. Multiple colleges are affiliated with the university, so it is home for many affiliated colleges. The architectural university buildings were planned to be constructed near the green space known as The Bowl. The main university buildings are connected by skywalks and tunnels. Clockwise, from the north; Thorvaldson Building Geology, W.P. Thompson Biology which is adjoined to Physics Building, Saskatchewan cojoined with Athabasca Hall and Qu'Appelle Hall.
