University Of Tasmania

Tasmania University, known as UTAS is a government funded public university. It is a research based university primarily located in Tasmania, Australia. It was established in 1890 and hence is Australia's fourth oldest university.

• The University is a member of the international Association of Commonwealth Universities and is a sandstone university. It is also a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning.
• The university offers various undergraduate and graduate programs in a range of fields. It has links with 20 specialist research universities, cooperative research centers and faculty based research centers. Many of these institutes are regarded as nationally and internationally competitive leaders.
• The Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies of Tasmania University have strongly contributed to the university's multiple 5 rating scores in research. It was awarded by the Australian Research Council.
• Tasmania University also delivers tertiary education at the Australian Maritime College along with the national centre for maritime education, training and research. The university receives millions in funds to support research work.
• The university attracts a lot of international student each year. It is one of diverse university in the country due to the presence of students from different ethnic background. Tasmania University was ranked in the top 10 research universities in the country by Academic Ranking of World Universities.
