About University of Technology Sydney

The Institution of Technology Sydney (UTS) is an Australian public research university in Sydney. Although the university's roots can be traced back to the 1870s, it was created in its current form in 1988. UTS has 46,328 students enrolled in its 9 faculties and schools as of 2020. The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) was founded in 1964 when the New South Wales Institute of Technology was established. The Sydney College of the Arts School of Design was purchased by the institute on January 25, 1988. On January 26, 1988, the University of Technology, Sydney Act was approved, renaming the institute UTS. The Kuring-Gai College of Advanced Education and the Institute of Technical and Adult Teacher Education amalgamated with UTS on January 1, 1990, resulting in the current institution. The Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and the Australian Technology Network are all members of the public research university (ATN).

University of Technology Campus

The University of Technology Sydney campus is located on the southern entrance to Sydney's Central Business District. The university's principal administrative and faculty buildings are divided among three precincts. The buildings for Health, Science, Arts & Social Sciences, Design, Architecture & Building, and Engineering and IT are all located in the Broadway precinct. The Haymarket precinct, which includes the UTS Library and the Faculty of Law, is located in Sydney's Old Market neighborhood. Dr. Chau Chak Wing Building, the UTS Animal Logic Academy, building 15, and UTS Startups are also located there. The Black friar's Children's Centre and numerous administrative buildings are part of the Black friar’s precinct. Moore Park, the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, and Botany are just a few of the distinctive UTS facilities spread across Sydney.

One of SME's three founding units is the Department of Industrial Equipment and Control. The school has over 550 graduate students, comprising 441 full-time students and 109 part-time students who work full-time in the industry. In addition, about 1600 undergraduate students are enrolled in their respective majors.

The school has a total of 23 faculty members, including 5 professors, 15 associate professors, and higher engineers. Process Equipment, Safety Engineering, Corrosion and Protection for Materials, and Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation are the four parts of the faculty.

Eligibility requirements for UG programs is as follows:

Successful completion of the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) with the following grades from any educational board (CBSE/CISCE/State Boards):

  • CBSE: The best four subjects' overall grades are counted, with A1=5, A2=4.5, B1=3.5, B2=3.0, C1=2.0, C2=1.5, D1=1, D2=0.5.
  • CISCE: The best four externally assessed subjects' overall percentage grade average.
  • State Advisory Boards: It is possible to accept a pass % that is competitive.

Eligibility requirements for PG programs:

  • A recognized degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree is required for PG programs.
