About University of Ulster

The Institution of Ulster is a public university with many campuses in Northern Ireland. Ulster is a term used informally and unofficially to refer to the province. It is Northern Ireland's largest university and the island of Ireland's second-largest institution, behind the federal National University of Ireland. With almost 92 percent of graduates in the job or further study six months after graduation, it boasts one of the greatest further study and employment rates in the UK.

University of Ulster campus

Ulster University is a regional university in Northern Ireland, having campuses in Belfast, Coleraine, Jordanstown, and Derry (Magee College). Courses are also offered at two more branch sites in London and Birmingham.

Belfast: Ulster University in Belfast offers courses in architecture, hospitality, event management, photography, and digital animation. The award-winning Law Clinic on the Belfast campus provides free legal aid in the areas of social security and employment law.

Coleraine: Biomedical sciences, environmental science and geography, pharmacy, psychology, the humanities, cinema and journalism, travel and tourism, and teacher training are all available at Ulster University in Coleraine.

Jordanstown: The Jordanstown campus of Ulster University has a high reputation in the fields of business, engineering, construction, social sciences (including law), communication, and academic subjects related to sports science and coaching. Sport is an important component of the campus's culture.

Magnee: Students and employees can use the Magee campus for teaching, research, and support. This investment has resulted in the construction of a student residential village with en-suite accommodation, a library, the Intelligent Systems Research Centre, the Foyle Arts Building, and a state-of-the-art Centre for Engineering and Renewable Energy, which offers a wide range of Engineering courses.

Branch campuses: QA Higher Education, which has two branch campuses in England: London and Birmingham, has partnered with the institution. The Birmingham campus is in the Centre City Tower, whereas the London campus is in Holborn. Business, finance, and computing courses are available on the campuses.

  • Scholarship in pharmaceutical science awarded by Barnett : The £10,000 scholarship will be used to support the scholar/scholars and will be used to cover the entire amount of the scholar/scholar’s tuition fees (up to a maximum of £10,000 per year), with any remaining monies going directly to the scholar/scholars for living costs.
  • The wealth of the people Scholarship: Scholarships are awarded annually under the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship scheme to inhabitants of Commonwealth countries other than the United Kingdom who live in developing or developed countries. The Department for International Development administers awards for university postgraduate study or research.
  • Scholarship from the Chevening Foundation: Chevening Scholarships are a worldwide scholarship program run by the UK government that grants scholarships to excellent students with leadership potential from throughout the globe to attend postgraduate courses at UK institutions.Full or partial financing is available for full-time postgraduate studies, usually a one-year master's degree, in any topic and at any level.

How to apply to the university of ulster

Undergraduates can apply through the university's webpage or the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). If you want to apply for full-time education, use UCAS.

All PG applicants must apply online using the university's application site. First and foremost, you must choose a course of study. You'll notice an 'Apply Online' option on that course page, which will lead you to the online application form.

To fill out the application form, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Step 1: Create a new user account in the first step.
  • Step 2: Based on your course prerequisites, select the application type and application term.
  • Step 3: Fill in your personal and educational information.

Eligibility

The various eligibility criteria for UG and Pg level programs at the University of Ulster is as follows:

 Eligibility for Undergraduate program

  • 65 % overall on the Central of State Board Exams (Grade 12), with at least 65 % in at least five subjects 
  • Completed SSC (Grade 10) with a minimum of 60% in all major courses and a minimum of three A-Levels    

 Eligibility for PG program

  • A bachelor's degree plus a high school diploma proving 12 years of high school study and three years of professional courses is required.
  • Bachelor's degree (Honors) with a Second Division OR a Bachelor's degree (ordinary) with a minimum 60% average.

Life at the University of Ulster

With four diverse campuses across Northern Ireland, Ulster University is distinguished by the student experience it provides. The Ulster University Students' Union (UUSU) is a center for social events, entertainment, tours, and activities for all Ulster University students.

The Sports Union is a division of UUSU that oversees approximately 65 sports organizations on campus that offer a variety of activities ranging from archery to volleyball.
