About University of Windsor

The Institution of Windsor is a Canadian public research university in Windsor. It was founded in the year 1857 and is Canada's southernmost university. The university's nine colleges are the Faculty of Education, Humanities, Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering, Graduate Education, Law, Medicine, Science, Human Kinetics, and the Odette School of Business, which provide 190 undergraduate degrees and 65 graduate and doctorate degrees. The university's academic faculty has broadened its emphasis to include health, entrepreneurship, and natural science and research.

University of Windsor Campus

The campus, which spans 51 hectares and is attached to a residential neighborhood, is near to the United States. Some academic programs, such as Executive and Professional Education and Social Work, have been relocated to the downtown area. To meet the requirements of students, the CAW Student Center features a bookshop and a food court. Furthermore, the St. Denis Center, located on the southern edge of campus, has sports and recreational amenities for students, including a training room and a swimming pool.

University of Windsor Scholarships

Students who study in Canada may apply for a variety of scholarships and bursaries at the University of Windsor depending on their past academic achievement. International Entrance Scholarships are available to students who enroll full-time in their undergraduate years at UWindsor. How to Apply to University of Windsor?

You may apply to UWindsor through the UWindsor International Application website (powered by OUAC) or the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) website. All foreign students have access to this option. Use the UWindsor International Application webpage if you simply want to apply to UWindsor.

If you want to apply to other Ontario institutions, go to the OUAC website and fill out the 105 application form.

  • If you don't already have one, sign up for an OUAC account. Start your application by logging in with your credentials.
  • Before submitting your application, follow the instructions and double-check that all 10 areas are completed completely.
  • You will get an acknowledgment email with information of your UWin Account after submitting your application. To finish your 'To-Do List,' activate your UWin Account using the information supplied and log in to the UWinsite Student page. This will include uploading the appropriate papers per the instructions. This website also allows you to check the progress of your application.

University of Windsor Eligibility

All university courses at the University of Windsor must meet the following entrance criteria. Applicants should also study any extra admission criteria indicated per program in the Graduate Programs Directory's profile for that program.

Eligibility for UG

The University of Windsor needs Grades 10, 11, and 12 for undergraduate applicants. The grade 12 score required varies per school/course, although the class average is normally 3.0 or above. Students are also encouraged to submit their SAT and ACT results to the institution. Credits for Advanced Placement, International Diploma, and other globally recognized tests may be transferred. Additionally, one of the following results on an

English language competence exam is required:

  • TOEFL (iBT): As per course requirement
  • IELTS: No minimum requirement
  • Duolingo (DET): Minimum 120

UWindsor demands a three- or four-year bachelor's or master's degree (US equivalent) with a grade point average of 70-77% for graduate and PhD programs.

Life at the University of Windsor

  • Welcome Week in the autumn and Frost Week in the wintertime both include a week of activities ranging from filthy bingo to concerts to ice rinks.
  • Windsor is one of the few colleges where the cost of housing in town is cheaper than the cost of resident fees. That reality is shown by the student housing and apartment complexes that surround the campus.
  • For students, the Bru in Alumni Hall provides a brief pit break. Get a ready-to-eat sandwich, ice cream, or have a customized pizza made for you.

Accommodation at University of Windsor

The institution is set on a verdant campus amid the Windsor-Detroit metropolitan region, with a picturesque perspective and numerous chances to study and develop. The school is around seven kilometers from Downtown Windsor and is along the lovely Detroit River, with restaurants, cafés, and book shops nearby. A residential community surrounds the university.

University of Windsor On-Campus Accommodation

The institute's medium-sized campus houses more than 900 students. Students may live in both conventional and suite-style residences at the institution. UWindsor has four housing halls for students to choose from. Traditional rooms may be found in Macdonald Hall and Laurier Hall. Single and double occupied rooms, as well as common washrooms and lounge areas, are available in these halls.

Suite-style accommodations, which are single occupancy rooms, are available in Cartier and Alumni Halls. These come with communal cooking facilities and, in some cases, washrooms inside the unit. All residents must choose a food plan from a menu of alternatives ranging in price from 3,000 to 4,000 USD.

  • Windsor has some of the greatest weather in Canada. This means they may take full advantage of the Detroit River's picturesque bike, jogging, and walking paths, as well as day outings to the area's dozens of parks and beaches.
  • The Windsor Artwork Park, located near campus, features large-scale, globally known modern sculptures by internationally famous artists.
  • Point Pelee National Park, located 50 kilometres south of the city and on migratory paths for both birds and monarch butterflies, attracts roughly 300,000 tourists each year.

Students who are interested in receiving financial aid must establish their need by submitting extra information and documents (if relevant) to substantiate their application. This program will be given priority to applicants who have not earned any other sort of financial aid from the institution.
