ICAR Exam

ICAR exam is the All India Entrance Examination, also known as ICAR AIEE. ICAR exam is conducted every year for admission in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. Through the ICAR exam, 15 percent of seats are filled in Bachelor courses. The dates of the exam are officially by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

Through the ICAR exam, the undergraduate candidates are also awarded scholarships. The scholarship applies to all the undergraduate candidates of agriculture and allied science subjects except veterinary science. ICAR exam also allots 15 percent seats in diary technology at NDRI, Karnal. The first State Agricultural University was established in 1960. It was based on the Land Grant Colleges of the United States. Under ICAR, there are around 75 agricultural universities. National Agricultural Research and Education System is one of the largest agricultural university in the world. ICAR exam is conducted online only.

  • In 2019, around 2,36,931 candidates appeared for UG courses, while 31,486 candidates applied for PG courses.
  • Indian Council of Agriculture Research All India Entrance Examination is known as ICAR AIEEA.
  • In 1948, the University Education Commission proposed the idea of agricultural education.
  • There are around 64 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Fisheries, and Horticultural universities in India.
  • There are 4 Central Agricultural Universities whose faculties belong to BHU, AMU, Viswa Bharati, and Nagaland University.
  • NARES admits around 15,000 graduates, 11,000 postgraduates, and 2,500 candidates in Ph.D. annually.
  • The first State Agricultural University was located in Pantnagar.  

ICAR Entrance Exam 2019

ICAR entrance exam 2019 was held on 1st July 2019. The results of the ICAR entrance exam 2019 was declared online on 17th July 2019. The result was also displayed at the examination cell of the ICAR, Krishi, Anusandhan Bhavan II, Pusa, New Delhi. 

ICAR entrance exam 2019 counseling was also held online. The counseling of the ICAR entrance exam 2019 started from 26th July 2019 based on overall merit rank. For admission, every candidate needed to register on the ICAR website after counseling. 

  • The admission form availability started on 1st April 2019.
  • The last date to apply was extended till 9th May 2019. 
  • The online correction was held from 13th May 2019 to 20th May 2019.
  • The e-admit card was released on 17th June 2019.
  • The answer key was released on 8th July 2019.

ICAR Exam date

The NTA notifies the ICAR exam dates. The dates are declared on their official website https://icar.nta.nic.in/WebInfo/Public/Home.aspx. Due to the covid-19, application dates are extended by a month. The release of the admit card has also been delayed.

ICAR Exam Syllabus

The ICAR exam syllabus is issued by the NTA (National Testing Agency). NTA has made the ICAR exam syllabus from the important topics of class 11th and 12th science stream for candidates appearing for UG courses.  NCERT books are preferred to be the best study resource by the candidates of the UG course.

ICAR Exam Pattern

The ICAR exam pattern is based on objective type questions. The ICAR exam pattern is 150 questions with a full mark of 600. The paper can be obtained in two languages – English and Hindi. The exam is conducted online.

ICAR Application Form, 2020

The date for submission of the ICAR application form 2020 has been extended by a month. Candidates need to submit the ICAR application form 2020 before 30th April 2020. Candidates need to fill the form with proper details along with uploading scanned images. Candidates also need to pay the application fee for the application form.

  1. Visit the ISAR official website.
  2. Click o AIEEA application form and fill the details. 
  3. Upload scanned images of signature and photograph.
  4. Pay the application fee.

How to Apply for the ICAR exam 2020?

Candidates can apply only through online. Candidates need to register through the official website. Candidates need to fill the application form with their proper details. Candidates need to pay the application fee accordingly.

Steps to apply for ICAR exam 2020

  1. Visit the official website and login to the provided portal.
  2. Click on “Apply online” and fill the application form with valid details. 
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. Then, print out the application form.

ICAR Exam Result 2020

The ICAR exam result 2020 is expected to be published on 15th June 2020. Candidates will be able to check their result on the official website. The ICAR exam result can be downloaded only with the roll number, application number, and date of birth.

How to check the result?

  1. Visit the official website and click on “view results”.
  2. Enter the following details application number, date of birth and verification code.
  3. Download and save the result.

ICAR Exam Centres

ICAR test centers are spread across 34 states and union territories combined. There are ICAR exam centers in 178 cities for the UG exam and in 89 cities for the PG exam. Candidates need to refer their admit card to know the name and location of their allotted exam center.

ICAR Exam Fees

ICAR exam fees can be paid through both online and offline methods. ICAR exam fees can be paid through credit card, debit card or net banking. The exam fees can also be paid through challan of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur or NEFT.

Books for ICAR exam

Though, there are no exact books for the ICAR exam. For the UG exam, MCERT books are suited for the ICAR exam. Candidates can refer to the below-mentioned books for the ICAR exam.

ICAR Exam Eligibility

Candidates can appear for the exam only when they fulfill the ICAR exam eligibility criteria. ICAR exam eligibility is based on different aspects such as educational qualifications, age, nationality, etc. If any criteria are not fulfilled by the candidate, it will lead to disqualification.

Eligibility

  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates along with Physics and Chemistry should have Biology/ Home Science/ Mathematics/ Agriculture (any of these).
  • Candidates appearing for the AIEEA UG exam should score a minimum of 50% marks (General category) and 40% (SC, ST, and OBC category) in 10+2 from central or state board with Biology/ Home Science/ Agriculture/ Mathematics, anyone, as their main subject. 
  • Candidates appearing for the AIEEA PG exam should pass his graduate degree with a minimum of 60% (General category) and 50% (SC, ST, and OBC category).
  • Candidates appearing for the AIEEA UG exam should be of a minimum of 16 years of age as per 31st August 2020 and candidates appearing for the AIEEA PG exam should be of minimum 19 years of age as per 31st August 2020.
ICAR Exam Cut off marks 2020
The cut off for the ICAR exam 2020 has not been declared yet. It will be declared after the examination.
ICAR Exam Mode
ICAR exam mode would be completely online. The paper will have three sections based on the subjects.
