Assam Agricultural University or AAU was originally established in 1969 in Jorhat in the footsteps of Assam. Well basically, it is an agricultural education state level University serves education in the field of agriculture and allied Sciences and research. It constitutes a large number of campuses under it with a central headquarter at Jorhat. A large number of colleges are affiliated with the Assam Agricultural University and serves specification in their departments. This Agricultural University includes the faculty of agriculture, horticulture, veterinary Sciences, community Sciences and last but not the least fishery Sciences.

 This Institute is one of the best and only Institute in the world that offers exclusive four year degree program in agricultural specialisation in the husbandry and Technology. The faculty of agriculture offers MSc, PHD as well as BSc degree programs. 

History 

In 1920s Or 30s it was settled as Assam Agriculture College AAC and later in 1948 it it was converted into Assam Veterinary College AVC, Nagaon, khanapara. 

Faculty

This time the university is under the guidance and supervision of Kamal Malla Bujar Baruah the vice chancellor of Assam Agricultural University. As it is a state level university, it has well qualified and skilled teachers and professors with high level of knowledge.

AAU provides a large number of facilities which include training and placement, library, medical unit, library OPAC, online literature, National academic depository, online  I card application, online email online email ID application and music library services.

How to get admission in Assam Agricultural university

AAU VET…

An offline pen and paper based MCQs test having 150 questions related to 3 subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 

Duration of the examination is only 2 hours for this exam. Mode of examination is English only not any other language. Application mode is always online. 

Marking Scheme

1 mark will be allotted to every correct answer and 0.25 mark deducted for every wrong one. 

Eligibility

Any student enrol his /her name in the application after completing 10+2 with science stream as it includes more science works. 

Entrance Form Dates, Exam Date and Results

Usually the entrance application forms are available from the first week of May and last date to submit for VET is 4^th week of May, for other courses it may be the last week of June. 

The dates for entrance examination starts from the third week of June and end in the third week of July as per schedule. 

For results candidates do not have to wait for long period as the results would be announced in the months of July or August.
