The university of Melbourne founded in 1853 by Hugh Culling Eardley Childers is the second oldest university of research and higher education and is also ranked among the top universities in Australia. Education at the University of Melbourne is more than just structured learning, it is practical training taught by some of the most progressive faculty that excel in making new discoveries and researches.

Research institutes like Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Walter and Eliza Institute of Medical Research, and Grattan Institute constitute the 11 academic branches of the university. The student body constitutes of than 48,000 of which 13,000 students are from all over the world.
