They are the brand ambassadors and faces of an institution. They are considered to be the most precious gems of an institution. A student represents its institution in every zone, and an institution advertises its student’s achievements incoming generations till ages.

Thus they are considered to treasures of their schools/colleges. Although they are connected with certain social media groups in smaller sections or larger sections, but do not interact in person. An alumnus is considered to be the most loyal supporter of his /her institution.

Expertise

An alumnus is a person who has a full bunch of experience and traits which can help an institution in its growth of its students and their overall development as a whole. Alumni can help its institution by giving a practical aspect and a kickstart to their careers.

The universities have taken steps to build in the relation of its students to their alumni via social media like Facebook groups, Linkedin, Instagram pages, and many more. Leveraging an alumni committee is a win-win process for both the alumni and the institutions as a whole.

Alumni meet

The education system is changing the arena of interaction in many ways, out of which one is Alumni. Alumni meet is coming together of the passed out students or any set of pupils at a designated place for a reunion. All the students actively participate and come up from various corners to connect to this alumni meet.

An alumni meet conducted to exchange ideas and theories they have experienced all through the years after they have managed to pass out from college. All the hurdles, challenges, continuous support from all their connections. Also, organizing such an event and getting into so much of limelight creates more popular goodwill for a college and its future profits. 

Importance of alumni and their meetings –

Social media has dominated the path of interaction but could never take the place of physical interaction. Social media interaction has only generated talking term relations.

Still, events such as alumni are a source of physical interaction and generate views on how a generation back use to tackle situations on such a platform. Creating an environment for such a meet or an event by an institution is crucial and needful for its ambitious success.

Alumni are considered to be the connecting threads and bring out the best out of the institution.

Considering that aspect of alumni, there are certain possible improvements brought by alumni they are –

  • Fundraising – the initially is goodwill in terms of their education and are considered to be the assets to bring in the value of an institution.
  • Career guidance – they are on a platform where they can prove to be a guide to the current educationists.
  • Placements – they have certainly build up relations from the day out of their movement from their institutions and hence can help generate placements to their freshers.
  • Networking platform – they are one of the best media to create networks with and therefore carry forward their networks.

Conclusion

With the change in the dynamics of the institutions from its alumni in comparison to the previous era, a possible networking chain has established with the establishment of alumni relations concept, making it a healthier and a better-conceptualized format to establish the aesthetics of the institutions.
