Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT)

Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), also known as NIT Allahabad, was established in the year 1961 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. It was founded as one of India’s seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges as a joint venture of the Indian government and Uttar Pradesh state government. MNNIT is associated with India’s third oldest university i.e., the University of Allahabad.

Earlier MNNIT was known as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (MNREC) and was renamed as MNNIT on 26 June 2002,

History

Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s former prime minister, laid the foundation stone of MNNIT. Gopal Kishore Agrawal being the founder Principal. Gopal Kishore Agrawal being the founder Principal. The college identifies itself as being the first in the nation to start a Computer Science & Engineering undergraduate degree in the year 1976.

Other undergraduate programs in Electronics Engineering, and Production and Industrial Engineering were started in 1982-83. MNNIT started its postgraduate courses in all the engineering fields in the year 1970. Having traveled a long way, on 26 June 2002, MNREC was transformed into a National Institute of Technology (NIT) and Deemed Universities, fully funded by the Government of India, with over 45 years of experience and accomplishments in the technical field. Also, on the Independence Day of 2007, MNNIT was declared as an institution of national importance.

these are all the Masters of Technology courses available in MNNIT. MNNIT also offers Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Computer Applications, and an M.Sc. in Mathematics and Scientific Computing. All the courses are certified.

Admissions

The criteria for getting admissions in MNNIT for engineering is based upon the IIT-JEE score. Is it a well-known engineering college and is also one of the 31 NITs in India, The cut-off for admission is usually high. To get admission, one needs to work hard. Also for B.Tech.

The candidate must have Physics and Mathematics as the main subject with a minimum of 75% marks in each one of them. Final admissions are based on the Joint Seat Allocation Authority(JoSAA) counseling. Admission to the M.Tech program is based on the GATE score, followed by CCMT counseling. Candidates need to go through the MNNIT entrance test, followed by the personal interview. For M.Sc, The candidate must hold a needed JAM score and CCMN counseling.

Fees

For M.Tech courses, the fees structure is around INR 2.21 Lakh for the full course, and for the Btech program in all fields, the fees range from INR 5-7 Lakhs for the full course.

Placements

The Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology provides a well working and very active training and placement cell for its graduates. In 2019, 1174 candidates took part in the annual placement drive organized by MNNIT, out of which 792 students grabbed offers from different companies. The average package for a placed candidate ranges from INR 7-10 LPA.
