York University, Canada’s third-largest University, is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was established in the year 1959 by the York University Act. It is a public research university comprising of more than 55,700 students(49,700 undergraduates and 6,000 postgraduates) and 7000 faculties. The current Chancellor and the president of York University are Gregory Sorbara and Rhonda Lenton.

Academics

York University 120 UG programs with 17-degree types. They are BA, iBA, BHS, BSc, iBSc, BBA, iBBA, BEng, BES, BDes, BPA, BFA, BCom, BEd, BDEM, BHRM, BScN, BSW and also with 170 degree options. York University also provides students the chance of studying abroad in 100 universities and more. Canada’s oldest film school and also the oldest and largest environmental studies faculty are accommodated by this university.

The five libraries of York University are the Scott Library, Steacie Science and Engineering Library, Peter F. Bronfman Business Library, and the Leslie Frost Library and the Osgoode Hall Law Library. The first four belongs to the York University Libraries system and the last one belongs to the Dean of the Osgoode Hall Law School.
