GNDU (Guru Nanak Dev University)

GNDU or Guru Nanak Dev University was established at Amritsar on November 24, 1969, to mark the 500th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is both a residential and an affiliating university. In conceiving the future course of the University, the objectives enshrined in the Guru Nanak Dev University Act 1969, emphasized that the new University would make provision for imparting education and promoting research in the humanities, learned professions, sciences, especially of applied nature and technology.

GNDU is a parent university of 148 colleges and 71 institutions, mostly in rural areas. The main motive of the University is to raise wisdom and uplift backward classes. The motto of the University as engraved on its emblem Guru’s wisdom illumines all speaks of the vision and idealism for which the University stands. Spread over a stretch of 500 acres towards the west of the City, Guru Nanak Dev University presents a picture of modern architecture.

The University is successfully catering to twenty thousand students in various faculties at University Campuses and Constituent Colleges. Guru Nanak Dev University is the first university of the region that introduced online admissions to its courses, online counseling for State Level Admissions and Credit Based Evaluation System. All the results have been computerized, and OMR (Optical Magnetic Recognition) system is being used to bring in more efficiency and transparency. It is again first for any University in the region to have computerized its examination and registration system. The students now have all-time access to their results through SMS service.

GNDU University

GNDU Result

The result of the semester examination is released on the website of the university within 35-40 days after the commencement of the examination. The result of the Odd semester examination conducted in the month of December is declared in the month of January, while the result of even semester examination held in the month of May is announced in the month of June.

The result of each course run by the university is uploaded separately on its website. Candidates are required to enter their details to get their examination results. Here we have mentioned in detail how you can check the examination result.

  1. Go to the official website of the university.
  2. On the home page, click on the “Result” option under the “Examination” tab.
  3. On the result page, enter your “Roll no.”, the Session, Month of Examination and Course.
  4. Click on submit, and the result will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Check your results and take a printout for future use.

GNDU Revaluation results

Students who want to apply for revaluation can apply online within 18 days of result declaration. The fee for the application is INR 1200/- per subject and INR 200/- for the form. The only form is to be submitted to applying for one or multiple subjects. Revaluation is done for the annual exam, bi-annual exam, semester exam, and supplementary exam

Given below is the GNDU Revaluation Results checking process.

  1. Initially, visit the official website of GNDU.
  2. Now here on the home page, go to the Results section (which will be situated at the menu bar) and click on it.
  3. By clicking on the result section, you will see several links on your screen. Then you need to find and click on the concern link form News-feed.
  4. Now, you will have the Result checking portal in a new tab.
  5. After that, you have to select any one method between Name Wise & Roll number wise result checking method.
  6. Now, fill all required details in the result checking portal and click on the submit button.
  7. Finally, you will see your GNDU Rechecking Results on your screen.
  8. In the end, take a printout of your result for further use.

GNDU Syllabus

Guru Nanak Dev University(GNDU) releases the syllabus and admission notification. Candidates can check the GNDU syllabus for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and candidates go through important topics and subjects. Candidates suggested checking the GNDU syllabus before sitting down to practice for the entrance examination. With the help of the GNDU syllabus, 2020, students will get the idea about to prepare.

GNDU Admission

The University is the first one in the region which has rolled out the feature of online GNDU admissions, online counseling for State Level Admissions, and Credit-Based Evaluation System.

GNDU offers admissions in B.Tech, B.Sc.,B.Com (H), BBA, BA (Hons), B.Arch., LLB, B.A.LLB, BTTM, BHMCT, B.Lib., B.Planning, B.Pharm., BPES, BPEd., BPT and B.Ed courses at the UG level and offers M.Sc, M.Tech., M.Com., M, Arch.,MCA, MBA, M.Lib.,MPA,M.Planning, MHA, M.Ed. And LLM programs at the PG level. In addition to it, the university also offers M.Phil at the Research level.

Admission in GNDU

GNDU offers B.Sc., B.Tech, B.Com (H), B.A (H), B.Arch., LLB programs at the UG level. The min. eligibility for B.Sc. in the relevant subject is, the candidate must have passed class 12th with min. 50% marks in aggregate with 45% marks in the relevant subject. For B.Tech., the candidate must have passed Class 12th with PCME with min. 50% marks in aggregate. For B.Com. (H), B.A.(H) and B.Arch., the candidate must have passed Class 12th with min. 50% marks in aggregate and with the relevant subjects in it. For LLB, the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with min. 45% marks in it. For B.A.LLB, the candidate must have passed Class 12th with min. 50% marks.

GNDU Application form

The Application form has to be filled as per the steps listed below:

  • Firstly, the applicant has to visit the GNDU website. On opening this page, he/she is required to click Print Bank Slip and fill in the necessary details. In this section, he/she is also required to fill in the department and course he/she is interested in.
  • Subsequently, other personal details such as name, father’s name, address, etc. are to be filled in and submitted. After submitting the form, the applicant will get the Bank Deposit Slip, which will carry a unique Deposit ID.
  • Candidate must visit any nearest branch of State Bank of Patiala with the print out of the Bank Deposit Slip to deposit the application fee. Here, the bank will generate a Journal ID for each applicant.
  • The applicant will be given a Student copy and another, a University copy of the receipt. In the case of no State Bank of Patiala branches in an area, he/she can pay the application fee through RTGS mode in any bank. For foreign students, it is mandatory to submit a $25 draft, which is supposed to be payable to Registrar, GNDU Amritsar.
  • The payment option will need two working days, after which, the applicant is required to re-visit the University website in order to get the fee deposition details verified. Using the Journal ID provided to the applicant by the bank, he/she should provide the date on which the fee submission was made. Once the validation process is completed, the candidate can submit the application form.
  • Now, the candidate has to open the Application Form using the Deposit ID and password provided earlier. All the details, along with the updated fee deposition details, will now appear in a set format. He/she will be required to provide a few additional details and submit the form.
  • However, at this stage, he/she must check the form very carefully for any required corrections to be made in the form because once the form is locked, there will be no scope of correcting details.
  • He/She should also update their recent passport photograph in the space allocated for this purpose in the form. This photograph must be in the jpg format, and the file size should be less than 30KB
  • Once the form is Locked and Submitted, the page will generate an Application ID for each applicant. The candidate is required to get a print out of this form with the detail after previewing and should carry it to the counseling.

GNDU Admission last date

GNDU Admission Date, Time and Venue of Entrance Test as well as counseling schedule will be uploaded on University Websites, in due course of time, depending upon the resumption of normal activities in the University after the lockdown period due to Covid-19. All the interested candidates are requested to periodically check the websites of GNDU Campus www.GNDUadmissions.org or www.GNDU.ac.in (Campus Admission Portal) and Regional Campuses at Jalandhar www.GNDUrcjal.in and Gurdaspur www.GNDUrcgsp.in for further information.

How to Check & Download GNDU Result Gazette 2020?

  • Students need to first visit the GNDU official website.
  • At the home page, you need to click on the “Examination” link.
  • Then navigate the Results link.
  • Select Year, Month, courses, semester from the drop-down list
  • Enter Roll No. and submit it.
  • Now the Result will display on the screen.
  • Students can check out the GNDU Amritsar Results 2020.

Passing marks in GNDU

The pass marks for a course (paper) shall be 40% at the Post Graduate Degree level. Pass marks in aggregate for all the courses shall be 45% at Under Graduate Degree level. Re-evaluation shall be allowed as per ordinances.

FAQs

✅ Is GNDU a government university?

Ans. Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar is a public university owned by the state government. It was established under the state legislature act no.21 of 1969.

Is GNDU UGC approved?

Ans. The University Grants Commission has granted Category-I status to Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU). It got a NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) score of 3.51.

Does GNDU have hostels?

Ans. GNDU has separate hostels for both boys and girls. The annual fee for the hostel is INR 18,000 with additional INR 5,000 to be deposited as security which will be refunded to you when you leave the hostel.
